Women’s Basketball Announces 2009-10 Schedule

Riverdale, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent Head Women’s Basketball coach Gerald Davis released the Dolphins’ 2009-10 game schedule on Wednesday morning. The slate includes 10 home dates, a place in the New York University Tip-Off Tournament and a trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a pair of games. The season opens on November 19 at Rowan.

The Dolphins have a busy start to the season in the first semester, opening with three games in three days. Following the season opener on November 19 the Dolphins will tussle with regional power New York University on the following evening, before rounding out the tournament on November 21.

After the second day of the New York University Tournament the Dolphins will play their fourth game on the road to open the season on December 1 at Skyline foe Yeshiva. The Dolphins will open the home schedule at the Peter J. Sharp Athletic and Recreation Center on December 3 against defending Skyline Conference Champion Mount Saint Mary.

Following the Mount Saint Mary contest, the Dolphins will have four contests until their second home date of the season. The Mount will travel to Old Westbury on December 9 and to Montclair St. on December 15 before heading to the Sunshine State for games against Curry and Millikin.

Upon their return from Florida the Dolphins will play two of their next three games at home before embarking on a three game road trip from January 12-19 with stops at Farmingdale St., Purchase and Bard. After that trip wraps up the Mount will play seven of its final 10 games on its home floor, including a three game home stretch from January 30-February 6.

Mount Saint Vincent is coming off a 2008-09 season that saw it go 16-12 overall and 14-4 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins made their third straight appearance in the Skyline Conference semifinals last season and their second trip in program history to the ECAC Division III Metro Division Tournament.
