Dolphins End Losing Streak With Sweep Of Saint Elizabeth
MacBride matches career-high in assists, sets career mark in kills and digs

Renee Reynes posted a match-high 16 digs against Saint Elizabeth.
Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball team snapped its two match losing streak with a 3-0 sweep over Saint Elizabeth on Thursday night. The Dolphins took the match by set scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-19. Freshman Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) matched her career-high in assists and set a new career best in kills and digs in the match.

MacBride finished the contest with nine assists which matches her career best that was set earlier this season against York (N.Y.). She also surpassed her previous best of three kills with five on Thursday in the winning effort. MacBride capped off a solid effort for the Dolphins with a service ace and a new career-high eight digs.

Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) finished the contest with four kills and a pair of defensive digs for the Dolphins. Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) added three winners and tied for the match-high with four service aces. Sophomore Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) also finished with four aces and lifted a match-high 16 digs.

Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent finished off 26 kills to 14 for the Eagles and hit .067 to -.038 for the visitors. The Mount lifted 47 digs to 44 for Saint Elizabeth, while the Eagles posted 4.0 total team blocks to just one for Mount Saint Vincent.

Irena Moore paced Saint Elizabeth with four kills on the night to go along with three total blocks, while Samantha St. Germain handed out a match-high 10 assists. Renee Windeknecht chipped in with a kill and a team-high 12 digs.

The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 5-6 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to action on Saturday with a pair of Skyline Conference matches in Patchogue, N.Y. The Dolphins will tangle with Old Westbury at noon and then take on host St. Joseph’s-L.I. at 2:00 p.m.
