Scout Department: New Rochelle: The Dolphins will open the week against the Blue Angels, an old rival from their time in the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference. Over the past three years the Mount has not dropped a set to New Rochelle, posting a 3-0 record. In last season’s match-up, Renee Reynes lifted 20 digs and Jessica Williams finished with seven kills.
Scout Department: Lehman: The Lightning will enter the week with a 2-2 overall record in 2009. Lehman has won its last two matches heading into its Tuesday night match with Hunter. Coming into this week Gerri-Ann Martin leads the team with 52 kills and 3.47 kills per set. Lisa Jagdeo has handed out 92 assists to lead the Lightning, good for 6.13 assists per set. Jillian Acevedo and Racine Brown lead the way in digs and total blocks with 81 and 10.
Scout Department: USMMA-Kings Point: The Mariners will open play this week with a 1-2 overall record. They will take on Skyline Conference member Old0Westbury on Tuesday night before hosting the Dolphins on Saturday. Kings Point is paced by Marisa Sanchez who is averaging 2.86 kills per set. Jenna Palaschak leads the way with 7.22 assists per set and Sanchez has lifted 20 digs for the Mariners over the first three matches of the season.
All-Tournament Team: After averaging 6.69 digs per set over four matches at the Grinnell College (Iowa) invitational, Renee Reynes was named to the events All-Tournament Team. She finished the event with 87 total digs to go along with two kills, two service aces and three assists.
Mount Saint Vincent will be looking to snap a four match losing streak on Tuesday night. After opening the season 2-0, the Dolphins dropped four matches at the Grinnell College (Iowa) Invitational to fall to 2-4 overall on the season.
