College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team
has received the 2008 Skyline Conference Team Sportsmanship
Award it was announced on Monday morning. The squad becomes
the second Mount Saint Vincent team to earn the honor this

5/12/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team’s season came to a close
on Saturday with a 5-0 loss at Richard Stockton in the ECAC
Metro Division Tournament. Senior

Mount, while
Zach Munroe (Milford, CT) and
James Labartino (Hobrook, NY) recorded the
only base hits for the Dolphins.

5/10/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Department of Athletics held its annual
Varsity Awards Banquet in Smith Hall on Saturday afternoon.
At the event each team handed out its respective awards and
four student-athletes received department wide honors for
dedication, school spirit and academic excellence. Senior
baseball player
Logan Mauzy (Homer, NY)
received the Chuck Mancuso Dedication Award, while
sophomore tennis and lacrosse player
Karen Laurent
(East Elmhurst, NY) was honored with the Sister
Magdalen Horsting Spirit Award.
Cyndi Adams
(Mechanicsville, MD) and
Jason Salute
(Bronx, NY) were also honored with Senior Scholar
Athlete Awards.

Saint Vincent Baseball team dropped a tough 4-3 decision at
Ramapo on Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the
ECAC Division III Metro Tournament. Senior

Saint Vincent Softball team’s season came to an end
on Wednesday evening with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss at
Baruch in the first round of the ECAC Division III Metro
Tournament. Sophomore
Megan Gonzalez (Fishers,
IN) pitched six strong innings for the Mount, but
the Dolphins were held to just three hits in the contest.

5/7/2008 - A pair of Mount Saint
Vincent athletic teams will compete in their respective
ECAC Division III Metro Division Tournaments on Wednesday.
Baseball will open play as the third seed and travel to
second seeded Ramapo, while the fifth seeded softball team
will take on fourth seeded Baruch at the College of Staten
Island.

Jon
O’Leary (Bohemia, NY) has been named
Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week it was announced on
Tuesday afternoon. O’Leary helped Mount Saint Vincent
to the league championship round by going 2-0 with a
shutout in the Skyline Conference Tournament.

Michael Pope (Massapequa,
NY) has been named the Skyline Conference Baseball
Rookie of the Year it was announced on Monday afternoon.
Three other Dolphins received all-league recognition, as

CT) were named All-Skyline Conference First Team
and Pope and
Joe Blackford (Stewartsville,
NJ) were named Second Team All-Skyline Conference.

College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore outfielder
Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, NY)
has been named First Team All-Skyline Conference it
was announced Monday afternoon. O’Shea is
leading the Dolphins with a .384 batting average and
six home runs in 2008. In addition to
O’Shea’s honor, the Mount Saint Vincent
Softball team earned the Skyline Conference Team
Sportsmanship Award.

5/4/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team forced the play back game in
the Skyline Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon, but
was downed in the second game by Farmingdale State for the
Skyline Championship. The Dolphins forced the second game
with a 1-0 win in the game one, but were downed by the Rams
8-4 in the second game. Senior

hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

5/4/2008 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball
team’s bid to repeat as the Hudson Valley
Women’s Athletic Conference Champion fell short on
Saturday, as the Dolphins were defeated 2-1 by Saint
Elizabeth in the Championship Game. The Dolphins reached
the final with an 8-0 win over Sarah Lawrence earlier in
the day.

5/3/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team was defeated by St.
Joseph’s (LI) on Friday night in the Skyline
Conference Baseball Tournament by a score of 5-2. The
Dolphins out hit the Golden Eagles 10-8 in the game, but
made four miscues leading to three unearned runs.
Tanner Munroe (Milford, CT) led the Mount
offensive attack with three hits in the contest.

second straight time, the College of Mount Saint Vincent
Women’s Lacrosse squad was defeated 14-13 at the
hands of Kean University. Four Dolphins scored at least of
pair of goals in the Skyline Conference Tournament

5/1/2008 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team
was defeated by Polytechnic on Wednesday in the Skyline
Conference tournament by a score of 13-0. Mount Saint
Vincent will look to rebound on Saturday when it takes part
in the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference
Tournament held at Saint Elizabeth. The Dolphins will enter
the tournament as the top seed after an unbeaten regular
season in league play.

Saint Vincent Baseball team earned its first ever Skyline
Conference Tournament win on Wednesday with a convincing
23-2 win over Polytechnic. Five Dolphins had multi-RBI
games on Wednesday, with

CT) driving in four runs.

Saint Vincent Baseball team swept a Skyline Conference
doubleheader on Saturday afternoon from Mount Saint Mary.
The Dolphins nipped the Blue Knights in game one in 10
innings by a 2-1 score, before topping Mount Saint Mary 9-7
in game two.
James Labartino (Holbrook,
NY) drove in the game winning run in the opener,

drove out a three-run home run in game two to send Mount
Saint Vincent to the sweep.

College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team was swept
by Skyline Conference rival Mount Saint Mary on
Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins fell by a score of
4-1 in the opener, before dropping a 6-5 heartbreaker
in eight innings in game two. In addition to pitching
14.2 innings over two games,

(Merrick, NY) and
Jason Reynolds

career point on Thursday in Mount Saint Vincent’s
16-7 win at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. Reynolds
scored five goals and added an assist in the win, the

Saint Vincent Baseball team set a program record for wins
in a season on Wednesday with a 4-2 win over Baruch. The
win gives the Mount 17 victories this season and eclipses
the previous mark for wins of 16 set in 2006.
