Vincent Director of Athletics Steve Macias has announced
the hiring of James Quiroga as the school’s new Head
Men’s Soccer Coach. Quiroga comes to the Mount with
both college coaching experience at Iona and club coaching
experience at FC Westchester, one of the premier clubs in
the country.

Lisa O’Shea
(White Plains, N.Y.) has been named an ECAC
Division III Metro All-Star it was announced by the ECAC
office. O’Shea was also a First Team All-Skyline
Conference selection for the Dolphins in 2009.

Joe Blackford
(Stewartsville, N.J.) has been named an
ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All New York Region selection it
was announced late Monday. Blackford was third on the team
with a .372 batting average and also recorded five saves
for the Mount.

5/19/2009 - A pair of College of
Mount Saint Vincent senior baseball players were recognized
with ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards it was announced late
Monday night.
Josh Cuozzo (Westbury, N.Y.)
earned the honor for the New York Region at third base,
while classmate
Mike Ruckdaschel (East Meadow,
N.Y.) took the award for the shortstops in the
region.

5/7/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Department of Athletics held its annual
Varsity Awards Banquet on Thursday evening where each
program and senior was recognized. Each of the
Mount’s 15 varsity programs handed out their
respective awards at the event and four student-athletes
were honored with department wide honors. In addition the
Mount Saint Vincent Sports Medicine Department handed out
three awards of its own.

5/7/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team had its 2009 season come to an
end on Wednesday night with a heartbreaking 4-3 loss at
Stevens in 10 innings in the opening round of the ECAC
Metro Division Tournament.
Anthony Mongelli
(Flushing, N.Y.) worked 6.0 strong innings for the
fifth seeded Dolphins, while
Joe Blackford
(Stewartsville, N.J.) and
Mike Pope
(Massapequa, N.Y.) each collected a pair of base

Saint Vincent Baseball team will make its second straight
ECAC Tournament when it travels to Stevens for the First
Round of the 2009 ECAC Division III Metro Tournament on
Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m.. The winner of the first
round contest will move on to tangle with top-seeded
Rutgers-Newark on Friday afternoon.

Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team has been selected
as the fourth seed in the upcoming ECAC Division III South
Division Tournament it was announced on Monday afternoon.
The Dolphins will make their second appearance in three
seasons in the tournament and will travel to top-seeded
Stevens on Saturday, May 9.

named First Team All-Skyline Conference, while senior

McManus’ (Bayside, N.Y.) first career home
run was a grand slam in the bottom of the eleventh of the
opening round of the Skyline Conference Tournament that
sent the Dolphins to a 12-8 win over Mount Saint Mary on
Wednesday evening. McManus finished the game with three of
the Dolphins’ 19 hits and drove in five runs.

Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team was eliminated
from the Skyline Conference Tournament on Wednesday evening
with a 19-9 loss at second seeded Montclair St.
Wednesday’s loss marks the third straight season the
Dolphins have been knocked out in the semifinal round.

inclement weather in and around the area and poor field
conditions the College of Mount Saint Vincent has had its
Men’s Lacrosse game at Richard Stockton scheduled for
this evening at 7:30 p.m. and its Softball doubleheader at
the College of Saint Elizabeth scheduled for this afternoon
at 4:00 p.m. postponed. The lacrosse game will be played
Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. and the softball twinbill
will be played on Sunday, April 26 starting at 11:00 a.m.

Saint Vincent Softball squad earned a doubleheader split
with league foe Mount Saint Mary on Sunday afternoon. The
Dolphins were shutout by a score of 3-0 in the opener but
rallied for a 5-4 win in eight innings in game two.
Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) slid
home safely on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth
inning in game two to give the Dolphins the win.
