Quiroga has college, club coaching experience
6/22/2009 - College of Mount Saint
Vincent Director of Athletics Steve Macias has announced
the hiring of James Quiroga as the school’s new Head
Men’s Soccer Coach. Quiroga comes to the Mount with
both college coaching experience at Iona and club coaching
experience at FC Westchester, one of the premier clubs in
the country.
Junior led the Mount with a .507 batting average in 2009

Vincent junior softball standout Lisa O’Shea
(White Plains, N.Y.) has been named an ECAC
Division III Metro All-Star it was announced by the ECAC
office. O’Shea was also a First Team All-Skyline
Conference selection for the Dolphins in 2009.

5/19/2009 - College of Mount Saint
Vincent junior baseball player Joe Blackford
(Stewartsville, N.J.) has been named an
ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All New York Region selection it
was announced late Monday. Blackford was third on the team
with a .372 batting average and also recorded five saves
for the Mount.
Cuozzo posts .957 fielding percentage 93 total chances
5/19/2009 - A pair of College of
Mount Saint Vincent senior baseball players were recognized
with ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards it was announced late
Monday night. Josh Cuozzo (Westbury, N.Y.)
earned the honor for the New York Region at third base,
while classmate Mike Ruckdaschel (East Meadow,
N.Y.) took the award for the shortstops in the
region.

5/7/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Department of Athletics held its annual
Varsity Awards Banquet on Thursday evening where each
program and senior was recognized. Each of the
Mount’s 15 varsity programs handed out their
respective awards at the event and four student-athletes
were honored with department wide honors. In addition the
Mount Saint Vincent Sports Medicine Department handed out
three awards of its own.
Pope, Blackford record two hits each for the Dolphins
5/7/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team had its 2009 season come to an
end on Wednesday night with a heartbreaking 4-3 loss at
Stevens in 10 innings in the opening round of the ECAC
Metro Division Tournament. Anthony Mongelli
(Flushing, N.Y.) worked 6.0 strong innings for the
fifth seeded Dolphins, while Joe Blackford
(Stewartsville, N.J.) and Mike Pope
(Massapequa, N.Y.) each collected a pair of base
hits.
Dolphins travel to Stevens on Wednesday night
5/4/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team will make its second straight
ECAC Tournament when it travels to Stevens for the First
Round of the 2009 ECAC Division III Metro Tournament on
Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m.. The winner of the first
round contest will move on to tangle with top-seeded
Rutgers-Newark on Friday afternoon.

5/4/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team has been selected
as the fourth seed in the upcoming ECAC Division III South
Division Tournament it was announced on Monday afternoon.
The Dolphins will make their second appearance in three
seasons in the tournament and will travel to top-seeded
Stevens on Saturday, May 9.
Freaso, Martin, Mitchell named First Team All-League
5/4/2009 - Four College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse Players were honored
with All-Skyline Conference recognition it was announced on
Monday afternoon. Kim Freaso (Setauket, N.Y.),
Kelly Martin (Stony Point, N.Y.) and
Jessie Mitchell (Suffern, N.Y.) were all
named First Team All-Skyline Conference, while senior
Megan Fleri (Islip, N.Y.) was named Second
Team All-League.

Vincent sophomore Men’s Lacrosse player Mike
Shea (Congers, N.Y.) has been named Second Team
All-Skyline Conference it was announced by the league
office on Monday afternoon. Shea becomes the first player
in program history to be honored with a post-season
All-Conference award.
Junior outfielder hitting .507 in 2009

Vincent junior Lisa O’Shea (White Plains,
N.Y.) has been named First Team All-Skyline
Conference in Softball for the second straight season it
was announced on Monday afternoon. O’Shea is
currently the team leader in batting average, hitting at a
507 clip in 2009.
Blackford named First Team All-League, Triolo Second Team
5/4/2009 - Two College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball players were named All-Skyline
Conference it was announced by the league office on Monday
afternoon. Junior Joe Blackford (Stewartsville,
N.J.) was named First Team All-Skyline Conference
and Nick Triolo (Homer, N.Y.) has earned
Second Team All-Skyline Conference honors.
Maribao named league’s top rookie and First Team
All-Skyline
5/4/2009 - College of
Mount Saint Vincent freshman Kevin Maribao
(Yonkers, N.Y.) has been named the Skyline
Conference Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Year and First
Team All-Skyline Conference it was announced on Monday
afternoon. Maribao paced the Dolphins with eight singles
victories in 2009 and four doubles wins for the Mount.
Blackford drives in two runs against Farmingdale St.
5/4/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team was eliminated from the double
elimination Skyline Conference Tournament on Saturday
following a 13-2 loss to top-seeded Farmingdale St. on
Friday afternoon and an 8-3 defeat at the hands of second
seeded Old Westbury on Saturday. Junior Joe
Blackford (Stewartsville, N.J.) drove in a pair of
runs in the Friday contest and senior Corey Kirsh
(East Medeaow, N.Y.) fired 7.1 innings against Old
Westbury on Saturday.
Sophomore’s first career home run wins game in bottom
of eleventh
4/29/2009 - Sophomore John
McManus’ (Bayside, N.Y.) first career home
run was a grand slam in the bottom of the eleventh of the
opening round of the Skyline Conference Tournament that
sent the Dolphins to a 12-8 win over Mount Saint Mary on
Wednesday evening. McManus finished the game with three of
the Dolphins’ 19 hits and drove in five runs.

4/29/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team was eliminated
from the Skyline Conference Tournament on Wednesday evening
with a 19-9 loss at second seeded Montclair St.
Wednesday’s loss marks the third straight season the
Dolphins have been knocked out in the semifinal round.
Junior Kelly Martin (Stony Point, N.Y.)
and senior Jenna McColgan (Lynbrook, N.Y.)
led the way for the Mount with three goals each.
Baseball hosts Mount Saint Mary, Lacrosse travels to
Montclair St.
4/28/2009 - Two College of Mount
Saint Vincent athletic programs will open Skyline
Conference Tournament play on Wednesday. The baseball team
will host Mount Saint Mary at 4:00 p.m. at Columbia
University’s Robertson Field, while the women’s
lacrosse team will travel to Montclair St. for a 5:00 p.m.
contest.
Chivelly goes 3-3, scores twice
4/24/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Softball team earned a 5-2 win over New
Rochelle on Thursday afternoon on Senior Day. Sophomore
Nora Chivelly (Suffern, N.Y) picked up
three bunt base hits in the game and also scored a pair of
runs.

4/24/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team dropped its fourth
straight contest on Thursday night when it fell at Richard
Stockton by a score of 17-7. Cavan Valance (Glen
Cove, N.Y.) led the way for the Mount with two
goals and sophomore Mike Shea (Congers,
N.Y.) posted a team-high three assists.
Dolphins close regular season at Polytechnic on Saturday
4/24/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team was shutout on
Thursday night at #5 The College of New Jersey by a score
of 16-0. Junior goalie Karen Laurent (East
Elmhurst, N.Y.) made six saves in the contest for
the Dolphins.
Martin tallies seven points for the Dolphins
4/23/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team picked up an
important 18-17 Skyline Conference win at Kean on Wednesday
night. The Dolphins had three players score at least four
goals in the contest with Kelly Martin (Stony
Point, N.Y.) leading the way with six goals to go
along with an assist.
Lacrosse game moved to Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
4/22/2009 - Due to
inclement weather in and around the area and poor field
conditions the College of Mount Saint Vincent has had its
Men’s Lacrosse game at Richard Stockton scheduled for
this evening at 7:30 p.m. and its Softball doubleheader at
the College of Saint Elizabeth scheduled for this afternoon
at 4:00 p.m. postponed. The lacrosse game will be played
Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. and the softball twinbill
will be played on Sunday, April 26 starting at 11:00 a.m.
Dolphins travel to Maritime on Saturday
4/22/2009 - Due to the
threat of rain in the area and poor field conditions, the
College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball game at New Jersey
City University scheduled for April 22 at 3:30 p.m. has
been postponed. No make up date has been announced at this
time.

4/21/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team was defeated on the
road Monday night at Montclair State by a score of 16-2.
Brian Zambri (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
sophomore Mike Shea (Congers, N.Y.)
tallied the goals for the Dolphins in the contest.

4/20/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Baseball team picked up an important Skyline
Conference doubleheader sweep on Sunday afternoon at Mount
Saint Mary. The Dolphins won game one 11-8 before taking
game two 11-10 in nine innings. Sophomore James
Labartino (Holbrook, N.Y.) collected six hits over
the two games, including four in game one
Koerner scores game-winning run on wild pitch in game two
4/19/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Softball squad earned a doubleheader split
with league foe Mount Saint Mary on Sunday afternoon. The
Dolphins were shutout by a score of 3-0 in the opener but
rallied for a 5-4 win in eight innings in game two.
Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) slid
home safely on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth
inning in game two to give the Dolphins the win.
Gonzalez picks up the win in both games
4/19/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Softball team won its first Skyline
doubleheader of the season on Saturday when it downed St.
Joseph’s-LI by scores of 8-4 and 3-2. Junior
Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, Ind.) picked up
the win in both games for the Dolphins and Karissa
Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) doubled twice and
homered over the two games.

Vincent sophomore Mike Shea (Congers,
N.Y.) has been named the ECAC Metro/South Division
Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week it was announced on
Wednesday afternoon. This is the first ECAC honor that Shea
has received in his career.
