Women’s Soccer Set To Host Vassar In Season Opener
Kick-off slated for 7:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park

The Women' Soccer team will go head-to-head with Vassar on Wednesday night.
Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team will open the 2009 campaign on Wednesday night when it hosts Vassar in the season opener at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, N.Y. Kick-off for the non-conference matchup is set for 7:00 p.m.

Mount Saint Vincent, which is coming off a 1-15-1 season in 2008, will feature a revamped roster that does not include a single returner from the 2008 season. The group includes 12 freshmen and one sophomore and includes players from five different states and one foreign country.

Pat Gormley will return for his second season as the head women’s soccer coach and will also be in his second season pulling double head coaching duties. Gormley also guides the women’s lacrosse program at the Mount and has posted a 16-15 career record over the past two seasons.

The Dolphins’ 2009 schedule features 18 contests overall and nine home dates. The Mount will contest a full nine game Skyline Conference schedule and will take on Vassar, Staten Island twice, CCNY, Saint Elizabeth, Trinity (D.C.) and Mills (Calif.) College in non-league action.

Following tonight’s contest, Mount Saint Vincent will play a second home date when it hosts the College of Staten Island on Monday, September 14. After that contest the Dolphins will hit the road to take on CCNY on September 22.
