INTG 391 Place and Identity in the Modern World:
In today's ever-changing and increasingly interconnected world, how we
define ourselves and our place in it has become more and more complex.
This course examines various ways of interpreting identity in the
modern world. It focuses on the interplay of culture, language,
politics, social environment, technology, and the media in the
formation of modern personal, national, and ethnic identities across
borders and cultures.
This is a team-taught course. We are seeking an instructor from the
fields of sociology, psychology or communications. You will be
co-teaching the course with a faculty member from the history
department. Both instructors will attend all course sessions. First
Course Meeting: Tuesday, September 1.
Course meets Tuesday evenings, 6:30 to 9:10 on our Riverdale, NY campus.
