Dan Williams2/13/2007 - Mount Saint Vincent Head Men's Volleyball Coach Tom Callahan knew coming into the 2007 season that his team had improved dramatically over a 2006 squad that finished 7-18. Despite having a roster very similar to the one the program produced a year ago, an entire off-season of conditioning and preparation groomed the team into one capable of competing against a schedule of opponents including some of the best teams in the country. But Callahan also knew that it would take success against established, successful opponents in order for his crew to proved that they in fact have arrived. And on Tuesday night, Callahan got his wish. Three days after being swept by Bard College, 3-0 at the MIT Tournament, the Mount got its revenge. After falling behind 8-0 during the first game, and dropping it, 30-23, the Dolphins rallied for a dramatic 3-2 win in front of a raucous and excited crowd at Mount Saint Vincent. 1/17/2007 - During an interview for the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball 2007 team preview, Head Coach Tom Callahan expressed excitement about how much the Dolphins have improved from one year to the next. On Wednesday night, in front of one of the largest and loudest crowds to ever see a Mount Saint Vincent volleyball match, Callahan and company showed the NECVA volleyball world exactly what he meant. And while the result was a 3-1 loss to CUNY powerhouse Hunter College, the match was a toe-to-toe battle that saw Hunter barely survive an upstart Mount Saint Vincent effort. Hunter College was a win away from the CUNY Championship a year ago and advanced to the NECVA Championship Tournament. They also breezed past the Mount in three easy games on Jan. 19, 2006.
