4/6/2010 - Four College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball players have been recognized by the Skyline Conference with All-League honors it has been announced by the league office. Senior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and junior David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) were named to the First Team, while Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors.
3/27/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team closed out the 2010 regular season on Friday night with a 3-0 loss at #5 Vassar. The Brewers took the win by downing the Dolphins 16-30, 26-30 and 26-30. Junior David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) finished the match with 10 kills and classmate Michael Quinn finished with a double-double in assists and digs.
3/24/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team dropped its third straight match on Wednesday night with a 3-0 loss at NECVA Metro rival New Paltz. The Hawks downed the Dolphins by game scores of 24-30, 19-30 and 10-30. Junior outside hitter David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) led the Dolphins will 11 kills on the night.
3/23/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team was swept 3-0 at New Jersey City University Monday night in a NECVA Metro Division match. The Gothic Knights earned the victory with game scores of 15-30, 17-30 and 19-30. Junior setter Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished the night with 21 assists for the Dolphins.
3/11/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team dropped its fifth straight match on Thursday night after a 3-0 loss at Hunter. The Hawks took the match by game scores of 25-30, 15-30 and 12-30. The Dolphins hit -.112 on the night and senior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led the way with nine kills.
3/6/2010 - After winning a five set thriller on Tuesday against Yeshiva, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team dispatched the Maccabees in three games in the rematch on Thursday night. The Dolphins took the match by game scores of 30-19, 30-20, 30-22. Senior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) paced the visiting Dolphins with 13 kills on the night.
3/2/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball squad improved its season long winning streak to seven matches on Monday night with a hard fought 3-1 win over non-conference opponent CCNY. The Mount took the closely contested match by scores of 30-27, 30-32, 30-21 and 31-29. Four Dolphins reached double-figures in kills with sophomore Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) posting 13 kills and a team-high 11 digs.
3/2/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team stayed unbeaten in Skyline Conference play after a 3-0 sweep of Sage on Sunday afternoon. The Dolphins took the match with game scores of 30-13, 30-18 and 30-25. David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) led all players with 15 kills and two other Dolphins posted double-doubles in the match.
1/23/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team opened the 2010 season with a 3-0 win over York (N.Y.) on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins swept the match by scores of 30-26, 30-28 and 30-16. Junior David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) and senior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led the way with 17 and 10 kills respectively.
12/15/2009 - College of Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics Steve Macias announced the hiring of Jason Torres ’98, ‘00 as the school’s head men’s volleyball coach on Tuesday afternoon. Torres returns to Mount Saint Vincent after playing both soccer and volleyball from 1995-98.
4/12/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team had its season come to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 to Hunter in the ECAC South Division Tournament. The Dolphins were defeated by scored of 22-30, 11-30 and 14-30. Sophomore David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) led the Mount with 10 kills in the contest.
4/2/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team had four players honored with postseason All-Skyline Conference awards it was announced on Thursday. Seniors Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, N.Y.) and T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, N.Y.) along with sophomore John Furka (Massapequa, N.Y.) were named First Team All-Skyline Conference, while junior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) was named Second Team All-League. Head Coach Tom Callahan was named the league’s Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
3/17/2009 - College of Mount Saint Vincent senior T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, N.Y.) has been named the Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week it was announced on Monday evening. Pufahl led the Dolphins to the 2009 Skyline Championship and was named the Most Valuable Player of the event.
3/12/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team wrapped up a perfect Skyline Conference schedule with a 3-1 home win over Purchase on Thursday night. The Dolphins took the tightly contested match by scores of 28-30, 34-32, 34-32 and 30-21. Five Dolphins recorded at least 10 kills, with freshman Justin Amaral (Warwick, R.I.) posting his second straight double-double.
3/10/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team was defeated in a hard fought NECVA Metro Division battle on Tuesday night with New Paltz by a score of 3-0. The visiting Hawks took the contest by scores of 27-30, 28-30 and 29-31. Senior T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, N.Y.) paced the Dolphins with nine kills in the match.
2/23/2009 - Two College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball players have been honored by the Skyline Conference with weekly awards it was announced on Monday afternoon. David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) was named the league’s Player of the Week for the third time this season, while Justin Amaral (Warwick, R.I.) earned Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in his career.
2/21/2009 - Freshman Justin Amaral (Warwick, R.I.) posted a career-high 13 kills and sophomore David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) recorded a match-high 23 kills as the College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team won at Purchase by a score of 3-1. Scores of the match were 33-31, 32-30, 30-32 and 30-23 in favor of the visiting Dolphins.
2/13/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team picked up its first NECVA Metro Division win of the season with a 3-0 sweep at Yeshiva on Thursday night. Scores of the match went 30-22, 30-17 and 30-22 in favor of the visiting Dolphins. John Furka (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) totaled 11 and 10 kills respectively.
2/2/2009 - College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) has been named the Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time in three weeks that Guerrero has been honored with the award.
1/22/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team dropped its second straight match to a nationally ranked opponent on Wednesday night when it was defeated at #5 Stevens by a score of 3-0. The Ducks took the match by scores of 19-30, 20-30 and 15-30. Freshman Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the Dolphins in the match with six kills.
1/20/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent men’s volleyball match scheduled for this evening at Medgar Evers has been postponed. No make-up date has been announced.
4/3/2008 - College of Mount Saint Vincent Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Tom Callahan has been named the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year, while five players have earned All-Skyline Conference honors. David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) and T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY) were named First Team All-Skyline, while Phil Anselmo (Bronx, NY), John Furka (Massapequa, NY) and Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME) earned Second Team All-League honors.
4/1/2008 - College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) has been named the NECVA Metro Division Rookie of the Year it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. In his first season with the Dolphins, Guerrero led the team in kills, kills per game, service aces and points.
3/17/2008 - In the inaugural Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Tournament, Mount Saint Vincent defeated Polytechnic 3-1 to advance to the final match where they were defeated 3-0 by the host Bard Raptors. Scores of the semifinal against Polytechnic were 27-30, 30-26, 30-20, and 30-25 in favor of the Mount, while the final went 26-30, 24-30, and 28-30 against the Dolphins. Freshman David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) finished the two matches with 48 kills, including 31 winners in the semifinal.
3/12/2008 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team won its fourth straight match on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep of Webb Institute. Scores of the match went 30-7, 30-10, and 30-5 in favor of the Dolphins. Mount Saint Vincent was paced by rookie Ryan Vogel (Holbrook, NY) who posted 15 kills in the win.
3/10/2008 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team had three players record at least 12 kills and the Dolphins cruised to a 3-0 win over Purchase on Monday night at Hayes Gymnasium. Scores of the match were 30-27, 30-20, and 30-18 in favor of the Mount. David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) led the charge with 15 kills, while Ryan Vogel (Holbrook, NY) and John Furka (Massapequa, NY) posted 13 and 12 winners, respectively.
3/10/2008 - College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) has been named the Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday evening. Guerrero, who helped Mount Saint Vincent to a 2-0 week, has been honored with this award on three occasions so far this season.
3/7/2008 - The Men’s Volleyball team at the College of Mount Saint Vincent swept the season series from Yeshiva on Thursday night with a 3-0 win over the Maccabees. Scores of the match were 30-11, 30-23, and 30-5 in favor of the Dolphins. Mount Saint Vincent had three players record eight kills in the match, as the Dolphins won their 10th contest of the season.
2/18/2008 - College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) has been named the Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday evening by the league office. Guerrero finished the week with 41 kills and 18 digs as the Dolphins went 1-1.
3/20/2007 - Junior Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) registered a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, and and three service aces, and sophomore T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage HS) had 10 kills and two service aces as the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team swept Yeshiva University, 3-0 on Tuesday night for their fifth win during their last six matches. On Senior Night, where Dan Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St. Rose) was honored prior to the final home match of his outstanding career, the Mount rallied to make Williams's send-off a memorable one as the Dolphins swept Yeshiva for the second time this season to improve to 13-15 overall and 5-8 in NECVA Metro play.
