4/3/2008 - College of Mount Saint
Vincent Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Tom Callahan
has been named the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year,
while five players have earned All-Skyline Conference
honors. David Guerrero (East Meadow,
NY) andT.J. Pufahl (Bethpage,
NY) were named First Team All-Skyline,
while Phil Anselmo (Bronx, NY), John Furka
(Massapequa, NY) and Arnold
Ross (Wilton, ME) earned Second Team
All-League honors.
4/1/2008 - College of Mount Saint
Vincent freshman David Guerrero (East Meadow,
NY) has been named the NECVA Metro Division
Rookie of the Year it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
In his first season with the Dolphins, Guerrero led the
team in kills, kills per game, service aces and points.
3/17/2008 - In the inaugural
Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Tournament,
Mount Saint Vincent defeated Polytechnic 3-1 to advance
to the final match where they were defeated 3-0 by the
host Bard Raptors. Scores of the semifinal against
Polytechnic were 27-30, 30-26, 30-20, and 30-25 in favor
of the Mount, while the final went 26-30, 24-30, and
28-30 against the Dolphins. Freshman David
Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) finished the two
matches with 48 kills, including 31 winners in the
semifinal.
3/12/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team won its fourth
straight match on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep of
Webb Institute. Scores of the match went 30-7, 30-10, and
30-5 in favor of the Dolphins. Mount Saint Vincent was
paced by rookie Ryan Vogel (Holbrook,
NY) who posted 15 kills in the win.
3/10/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team had three
players record at least 12 kills and the Dolphins cruised
to a 3-0 win over Purchase on Monday night at Hayes
Gymnasium. Scores of the match were 30-27, 30-20, and
30-18 in favor of the Mount. David Guerrero (East
Meadow, NY) led the charge with 15 kills, while
Ryan Vogel (Holbrook, NY) and
John Furka (Massapequa, NY) posted 13
and 12 winners, respectively.
3/10/2008 - College of Mount
Saint Vincent freshman David Guerrero (East
Meadow, NY) has been named the Skyline
Conference Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week it
was announced on Monday evening. Guerrero, who helped
Mount Saint Vincent to a 2-0 week, has been honored with
this award on three occasions so far this season.
3/7/2008 - The Men’s
Volleyball team at the College of Mount Saint Vincent
swept the season series from Yeshiva on Thursday night
with a 3-0 win over the Maccabees. Scores of the match
were 30-11, 30-23, and 30-5 in favor of the Dolphins.
Mount Saint Vincent had three players record eight kills
in the match, as the Dolphins won their 10th contest of
the season.
2/18/2008 - College
of Mount Saint Vincent freshman David Guerrero
(East Meadow, NY) has been named the Skyline
Conference Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week it
was announced on Monday evening by the league office.
Guerrero finished the week with 41 kills and 18 digs as
the Dolphins went 1-1.
2/11/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s
Volleyball team fell to #11 MIT on Sunday on the
second day of the MIT Invitational. Freshman
David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY)
and senior Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME)
led the Mount with 11 kills each in the match.
3/20/2007 -
Junior Arnold Ross (Wilton,
ME/Mount Blue HS) registered a double-double with 11
kills and 10 digs, and and three service aces, and
sophomore T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage,
NY/Bethpage HS) had 10 kills and two service aces as
the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team
swept Yeshiva University, 3-0 on Tuesday night for
their fifth win during their last six matches.
On Senior Night, where Dan
Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St.
Rose) was honored prior to the final home match
of his outstanding career, the Mount rallied to make
Williams's send-off a memorable one as the
Dolphins swept Yeshiva for the second time this
season to improve to 13-15 overall and 5-8 in NECVA
Metro play.
1/15/2007 - The 2007
Men's Volleyball season is here! After a difficult
2006 campaign, Mount Saint Vincent is poised to
recover in 2007 as the Dolphins return all but one
starter from last season, and with second year Head Coach
Tom Callahan having a full year to prepare and guide his
team, there is a sense of optimism that the 2007 season
will be a success. Win or lose, according to Callahan,
this team is primed to be very competitive in one of the
toughest divisions in the country. Read all about his
