5/3/2010 - Two College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball players were recognized by the Skyline Conference on Monday afternoon with All-League honors. Sophomore Marni O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) was named First Team All-Skyline Conference, while sister Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) was honored with Second Team All-League accolades.
4/24/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent softball team split its final regular season doubleheader against St. Joseph’s-L.I. on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins fell in an eight inning heartbreaker in the opener 10-7 in eight innings before rebounding for a 7-4 win in game two.
4/20/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team picked up an impressive sweep over the College of New Rochelle on Monday, taking game one by a score of 11-0 and the completing the sweep with 16-4 victory in game two. The Dolphins combined for 33 hits over the two games, including six that went for extra bases. Katie Shea (Flushing, N.Y.) worked a 5.0 inning no-hitter in game one for the Mount.
4/15/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team was defeated twice on Thursday by the Gothic Knights from New Jersey City University. The Dolphins fell 7-2 in the opener and then dropped game two in five innings by a score of 12-4. Senior Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) homered and doubled for the Dolphins in game two.
4/13/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team breezed to a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Saint Elizabeth on Tuesday afternoon. The Mount took game one by a score of 13-3 before closing out the sweep with a 9-0 victory in game two. Sophomore Marni O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) drove in five runs in game one, while senior Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, Ind.) fired a one hitter in the second contest.
4/10/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team dropped its second straight Skyline Conference twinbill on Saturday afternoon at Mount Saint Mary. The Dolphins were shutout in game one 3-0 and then fell short in the backend of the set 7-3. Senior outfielder Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) drove in a pair of runs for the Mount in game two.
4/7/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team was downed twice on Wednesday afternoon by Stevens, falling 12-0 in game one and then 6-5 in a heartbreaking eight inning contest. The Dolphins managed just five hits over the two games.
4/5/2010 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team split a pair of games with St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on Monday afternoon, dropping the opener 4-3 before rebounding for a 4-3 victory of its own in game two. Samantha Reynolds (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) drove in two runs in game two, while senior Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, Ind.) combined for 12 strikeouts in the two games.
4/24/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team earned a 5-2 win over New Rochelle on Thursday afternoon on Senior Day. Sophomore Nora Chivelly (Suffern, N.Y) picked up three bunt base hits in the game and also scored a pair of runs.
4/19/2009 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball squad earned a doubleheader split with league foe Mount Saint Mary on Sunday afternoon. The Dolphins were shutout by a score of 3-0 in the opener but rallied for a 5-4 win in eight innings in game two. Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) slid home safely on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning in game two to give the Dolphins the win.
3/26/2009 - Due to the threat of rain this afternoon in and around the area of Morristown, N.J., the College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball doubleheader at the College of St. Elizabeth has been postponed. The set originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon will now be played on Wednesday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m. in Morristown.
5/8/2008 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team’s season came to an end on Wednesday evening with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss at Baruch in the first round of the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament. Sophomore Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, IN) pitched six strong innings for the Mount, but the Dolphins were held to just three hits in the contest.
5/7/2008 - A pair of Mount Saint Vincent athletic teams will compete in their respective ECAC Division III Metro Division Tournaments on Wednesday. Baseball will open play as the third seed and travel to second seeded Ramapo, while the fifth seeded softball team will take on fourth seeded Baruch at the College of Staten Island.
3/18/2008 - College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, NY) has been named the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. O’Shea and the Dolphins opened the 2008 season on Sunday with a doubleheader loss to Medaille in Stuart, Florida.
3/5/2008 - The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team has been picked to finish fifth in the Skyline Preseason Coaches’ Poll it was announced late Wednesday. Coming off a 15-14 season in 2007, the Dolphins received 33 points in the poll voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.
3/27/2007 - In the world of college athletics, there are literally hundreds sounds that on their own can evoke certain emotions, feelings, and thoughts for the die-hard sports fan. The blow of the whistle, the bounce of the ball, the roar of the crowd … all unique in their auditory significance, but emotional nonetheless if athletics are your proverbial cup of tea. At the College of Mount Saint Vincent, as the February snow melts and the days get longer and warmer, there is only one sound that truly makes a statement that the Spring has arrived, the school year is heading towards its conclusion, and summer vacation is but a short time away.
