Freaso is honored after being one of the Dolphins best defenders over the course of the 2009 season. She has played in each of the Mount’s 15 games and recorded seven points on the strength of six goals and an assist. She is currently second on the team with 35 groundballs and also second with 12 caused turnovers. Freaso has also won 15 draw controls for the Dolphins.
Martin has been named a First Team selection for the second straight season. She is currently the team leader in goals with 48, assists with 19 and points with 67. She became the program’s all-time leading scorer earlier this season and to date has amassed 186 points in her three years as a Dolphin. She has also picked up 31 groundballs, won 32 draw controls and caused a turnover. She was named the league’s Player of the Week on March 9, 2009.
Mitchell has had a strong and consistent all-around season through 15 games this season. She is second on the team in scoring with 45 points on the strength of 28 goals and 17 assists. She is the team leader in groundballs with 56, draw controls with 67 and caused turnovers with 26. She has also scored one of the nine game winning goals for the Dolphins this season.
Fleri has also had a solid campaign for the Dolphins through 15 contests. She has seen action in 12 games and has posted five points on four goals and an assist. She has collected 18 groundballs for the Dolphins in 2009, won seven draw controls and caused eight turnovers.
At 9-6 overall on the season Mount Saint Vincent will be back in action again on Saturday, May 9 when it travels to Stevens as part of the ECAC South Division Tournament. Opening draw with the top-seeded Ducks will be at 1:00 p.m.
