Mike Shea Earns Second Team All-Skyline Conference Honors

Mike Shea is the first Mount player to earn All-Skyline postseason honors.
Lawrenceville, N.J. – College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore Men’s Lacrosse player Mike Shea (Congers, N.Y.) has been named Second Team All-Skyline Conference it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Shea becomes the first player in program history to be honored with a post-season All-Conference award.

Shea played in all 13 games for the Dolphins during the 2009 season and led the team with 31 goals, 21 assists and 52 points. He scored at least one goal in 12 of the 13 games he played and averaged 2.38 goals per game and 1.62 assists per contest. Shea also averaged 4.00 points per game for the Dolphins and scored two of his 31 goals when the Mount was down at least one man. He netted the game winning goal at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and finished the season with 27 groundballs.

He was honored during the season with the Skyline Player of the Week Award on April 6 and that same week also received the ECAC Metro/South Division Player of the Week honor.

Mount Saint Vincent, in just its fifth season as a varsity program, closed the season with a 5-8 overall record and an 0-5 mark in league play.
