3/9/2007 - As the curtain rises on the third year of varsity Women’s Lacrosse at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, it is safe too say that Head Coach Michael Spinner has learned only one lesson during his fourth year at the Mount Saint Vincent helm. After a winless club season in 2004, a 12-4 inaugural season in 2005, and a 2006 campaign that saw the Mount finish 9-8 during the regular season and advance to both the Skyline Conference and ECAC Upstate Semifinals, Spinner admits that if there is anything he has learned since beginning the program at Mount Saint Vincent, it is that the unexpected is truly the norm. He claims that he has yet to see the team actualize the expectations he generated prior to the team’s first game. And while most coaches would shun the idea of surprise finishes as the norm, Spinner has embraced the fact that his team routinely failed to perform as their coach expected, and it is something he hopes to see again in 2007.
