2/26/2007 - Even if the clock has indeed struck midnight on one of the great Cinderella stories of the year and the 2006-07 Women's Basketball season at the College of Mount Saint Vincent is over, what is left behind in the wake of an incredible run by the Dolphins is so inspiring and uplifting that it can only be said that the fairy tale continues. A little over a week after winning the program's second Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Tournament Championship during the last three years (after the Dolphins captured the conference's regular season crown), and mere days after advancing to the Skyline Conference Semifinals, an incredible season was honored by the Skyline Conference today as Mount Saint Vincent freshman Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park HS) was named the Conference's Rookie of the Year, along with second team All-Conference honors, while Mount Saint Vincent was voted the Coaching Staff of the Year in the Skyline. 2/22/2007 - Freshman Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood HS) scored a team-high 16 points, 10 of which came during the second half, and fellow freshmen Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park HS) and Ciara Clarke (Warwick, NY/Warwick HS) scored 15 points apiece, but the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team lost to top-seeded Mount Saint Mary, 72-62 in the Skyline Conference Semifinals on Thursday night during a game played at Mount Saint Mary. With the loss, the Dolphins fall to 17-10 and await a possible ECAC Tournament berth that would continue their season and mark the Mount's first ever post-season opportunity beyond conference championships. 2/20/2007 - As USMMA-Kings Point departs the Skyline Conference for the Landmark Conference at the end of the 2006-07 academic year, they will do so knowing that they will never, ever win a Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Championship. Mount Saint Vincent made sure of that on Tuesday night, in dramatic fashion, as a rally during the final minutes of the first overtime session gave the Dolphins a thrilling 63-58 win over the Mariners in front of one of the largest crowds to ever witness a Women's Basketball game at Mount Saint Vincent.
