3/4/2009 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team was defeated at the College of Saint Elizabeth in an
ECAC Metro Tournament Quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday
night by a score of 48-46. Courtney Heesemann
(New Hyde Park, N.Y.) finished with 18 points
and 13 rebounds, while Karissa Koerner (Bay
Shore, N.Y.) netted 18 points.
3/3/2009 - College of Mount Saint
Vincent freshman Jen Mocanu (Middletown,
N.J.) has been named the Skyline Conference
Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week in the final
report of the season it was announced on Tuesday. The
honor is Mocanu’s fourth of the season and second
in the past three weeks.
3/2/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team has been
selected to participate in the ECAC Division III Metro
Division Tournament for the second straight year it was
announced on Monday. The Dolphins will enter the
tournament as the fourth seed and will travel to the
College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday night.
3/2/2009 - A pair of
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
players have been honored with All-League honors it was
announced on Monday afternoon. Junior Lauren
Percodani (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named First
Team All-Skyline Conference for the second straight year
and Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park,
N.Y.) earned Second Team honors.
2/26/2009 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team was defeated on the road at Farmingdale St. on
Thursday by a score of 83-71 in the Skyline Conference
Tournament Semifinals. The Rams were led by Kimberly
Blakney who scored a game-high 29 points, while the Mount
was paced by a double-double from Courtney
Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) who finished
with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
2/24/2009 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team advanced to
the Skyline Conference Tournament Semifinals for the
third straight season with a 71-54 win over sixth seeded
St. Joseph’s-LI Tuesday night. Four Dolphins scored
in double-figures in the game, led by Jen Mocanu
(Middletown, N.J.) who posted a game-high 20
points.
2/23/2009 - College of Mount
Saint Vincent freshman Ashley Ruiz (Carmel,
N.Y.) has been named the Skyline Conference
Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week it was
announced on Monday afternoon. Ruiz, who helped the Mount
to a 1-1 week, has been honored for the first time in her
career.
2/22/2009 - College of Mount
Saint Vincent freshman Ashley Ruiz (Carmel,
N.Y.) went 10-11 from the field overall and 6-7
from three point range on her way to a career-high 27
points in the Mount’s 102-98 win over Farmingdale
State. Ruiz was one of three Dolphins to score better
than 20 points in the contest, with Karissa
Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scoring 22 and
Jen Mocanu (Middletown, N.J.) adding 20.
2/19/2009 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team had its season-long four game winning streak ended
with a 68-64 loss at Old Westbury on Wednesday night.
Three Dolphins scored in double-figures with junior
Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
leading the way with 18 points to go along with nine
rebounds.
2/18/2009 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team will be hosting its WBCA Pink Zone™ game this
Saturday, February 21. The Dolphins will host Farmingdale
State at 3:00 p.m.
2/16/2009 - College
of Mount Saint Vincent Head Women’s Basketball
Coach Gerald Davis will be holding a book signing
following the Dolphins’ regular season finale on
February 21 for his first book titled Coaching With The
Scriptures.
2/14/2009 - College of Mount
Saint Vincent junior Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore,
N.Y.) scored a game-high 23 points, including
the 1,000th of her career, as the Dolphins cruised to a
91-72 home win over Purchase on Saturday. Koerner becomes
the second player this season and third in the last two
years to reach the milestone.
2/11/2009 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team ran its winning streak to three games on Tuesday
night with a convincing 84-30 road win at Yeshiva.
Sophomore Kerry O’Connor (Bethpage,
N.Y.) was one of five players to score in
double-figures on the night, matching her career-high
with 16 points. The win gives Mount Saint Vincent its
third three game winning streak of the season.
1/22/2009 - Junior
center Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park,
N.Y.) recorded her 1,000th career point on
Thursday in Mount Saint Vincent’s 91-81 victory
over Old Westbury. Heesemann was one of four Dolphins to
post double-figures and finished the night with 15 points
and a game-high 12 rebounds.
1/5/2009 -
College of Mount Saint Vincent junior
Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY) has
been named the Skyline Conference Women’s
Basketball Player of the Week it was announced on
Monday afternoon. Form December 15 through January 4
Koerner averaged 21.8 points and 3.8 rebounds over
four games.
12/19/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team was defeated
by a score of 76-54 Thursday night at William Paterson.
Junior guard Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore,
NY) was the only Dolphin to score in
double-figures in the contest, netting 17 points.
12/16/2008 - In a rematch of last
spring’s ECAC Metro Division First Round game the
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
squad was edged by Montclair State 82-80 in overtime at
Hayes Gymnasium. A pair of Dolphins recorded career
nights as Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore,
NY) netted 29 points for the Mount and freshman
Jen Mocanu (Middletown, NJ) added 25.
12/5/2008 - College
of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Brittany Griffin
(Suffern, NY) scored a team-high 22 points and
classmate Jen Mocanu (Middletown, NJ)
chipped in with 18 as the Dolphins won their home opener
over Yeshiva 90-73 on Thursday night. The win gives the
Dolphins two straight Skyline Conference wins.
11/13/2008 - Gerald
Davis’ College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s
Basketball squad has been picked to finish third in the
Skyline Conference Preseason Poll it was announced
Thursday afternoon. The Dolphins received 67 points in
the poll, including a pair of first place votes.
3/5/2008 - The
eighth seeded College of Mount Saint Vincent
Women’s Basketball team’s season came to an
end on Wednesday night with a 61-40 loss at top seeded
Montclair St. in the Opening Round of the ECAC Division
III Metro Region Tournament. Sophomore Courtney
Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY) scored a game-high
20 points in the contest and reached at least 20 points
for the seventh time this season.
3/3/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team has been selected as the eighth seed in the ECAC
Division III Metro Region Tournament it was announced
Monday afternoon. The Dolphins will square-off with the
top seeded Montclair St. Red Hawks on Wednesday, March 5
at 7:30 p.m. in Panzer Gymnasium at Montclair St. This
marks the first post-season bid for the women’s
program at Mount Saint Vincent on record.
3/3/2008 - A pair
of College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s
Basketball players have garnered All-Skyline Conference
Awards it was announced by the league office on Monday.
Sophomore Lauren Percodani (Staten Island,
NY) was named First Team All-Skyline Conference,
while classmate Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde
Park, NY) was named Second Team All-Skyline.
2/28/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s
Basketball team dropped a hard fought 60-57 decision
at Farmingdale State in the semifinal round of the
Skyline Conference Tournament on Thursday night. A
pair of sophomores led the Dolphins, as
Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park,
NY) led the team with 18 points and
classmate Ciara Clarke (Warwick,
NY) netted 15 points for the Mount.
2/26/2008 - College of Mount
Saint Vincent senior captain Kaitlin Burud (Red
Hook, NY) reached yet another career milestone,
as she recorded her 1,000th career point in the
Dolphins’ 60-51 Skyline Conference Tournament
Quarterfinal win over Old Westbury. Burud was one of a
pair of Dolphins to reach double-figures in the contest,
as Ashley Farrow (Ocean, NJ) posted 11
points. The win moves the Mount to the Conference
Semifinals for the second straight year.
2/25/2008 -
Senior Women’s Basketball captain
Kaitlin Burud (Red Hook, NY) has
been named a Skyline Conference Co-Player of the
Week it was announced by the league office on
Monday. This marks the first time this season that
Burud has been honored by the league and the third
time a member of the Mount squad has been
recognized.
2/25/2008 - Kaitlin
Burud’s (Red Hook, NY) triple-double led
the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team to
a 65-62 win at Purchase in the regular season finale.
Burud posted 15 points on 5-8 shooting to go along with
10 rebounds and 11 steals. Burud was one of three
Dolphins to record double-figures in the game, as
Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY)
and Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY) each
posted 17 points.
2/23/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team won its third
straight game, defeating Yeshiva 69-39 at Baruch on
Wednesday night. Senior captain Kaitlin Burud
(Red Hook, NY) led three Mount players in
double-figures with 26 points and recorded her third
straight double-double with 11 rebounds.
2/17/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team won its second straight Hudson Valley Women’s
Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday with a 69-55
win over the College of Saint Elizabeth. For the second
straight day Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park,
NY) and Kaitlin Burud (Red Hook,
NY) recorded double-doubles for the Mount.
Following in the contest, Burud was named the
tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
2/15/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team dropped just its third home game of the season after
falling to St. Joseph’s-Long Island (13-9, 11-4
Skyline) on Thursday night by a score of 69-62. Freshman
guard Kerry O’Connor (Bethpage,
NY) dropped a career-high 16 points in the
contest and was one of three Dolphins to score in
double-figures.
2/11/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball
team had its eight game winning streak snapped with a
69-51 loss at Mount Saint Mary on Saturday afternoon.
Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY)
and Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, NY)
posted double-figures for the Dolphins, scoring 16 and 10
points respectively.
2/7/2008 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team won its
seventh straight game on Wednesday night with a 78-65
road victory at Skyline rival Bard (10-10, 4-9). Five
players scored in double-figures for the Mount, led by
Courtney Heesemann’s (New Hyde Park,
NY) 21 points. Karrisa Koerner (Bay
Shore, NY) matched her career-high by knocking
down five three-pointers on her way to 19 points.
1/30/2008 -
College of Mount Saint Vincent senior
Kaitlin Burud (Red Hook, NY) was
honored prior to Tuesday night’s contest with
Old Westbury for reaching two prominent career
milestones. Burud picked up her 300th career steal
on January 14 against Bard and then grabbed her
500th career rebound on January 26 at Farmingdale
State.
1/14/2008 - Sophomore
Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY)
led five Mount Saint Vincent players in double-figures as
the Dolphins cruised to a 76-50 victory over visiting
Bard on Monday night. Freshman Kerry
O’Connor (Bethpage, NY) also had a strong
night as she finished with 14 points in the win.
1/12/2008 - The
College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s
Basketball team’s six game winning streak came
to an end with a 60-59 loss to Mount Saint Mary
(12-1, 6-0 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon. Three
Dolphins scored in double-figures in the contest,
led by Courtney Hessemann’s (New Hyde
Park, NY) 19 points. Heesemann also pulled
down a game-high 12 rebounds to record her third
consecutive double-double.
12/21/2007 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team concluded its
Toys for Tots Drive on Friday, December 21. Head Coach
Zach Kancher and the Dolphins team started the drive with
their home opener against Farmingdale State on December 1
and collected three large boxes of new, unwrapped toys
for underprivileged children in the area.

Freshman Kerry O’Connor (Bethpage,
NY) has been named the Skyline Conference
Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week it was
announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the first time
in her young career that O’Connor has been honored
by the league with a weekly award

The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s
Basketball team improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in
the Skyline Conference with a 65-54 win at Russell
Sage on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore guard
Ciara Clarke (Warwick, NY) scored a
game-high 12 points for the Mount, while
Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY) led the
team with six rebounds.
11/27/2007 - The College of Mount
Saint Vincent Women’s Basketball team will sponsor
a Toys for Tots Toy Drive this month to support the
United States Marine Crops’. Toys For Tots
Foundations. New, unwrapped toys can be donated around
campus during the month of December and at the
Dolphins’ upcoming home opener against Farmingdale
State, December 1 at 2:00 p.m.
2/19/2007 - Mount Saint
Vincent Head Women's Basketball Coach Ed Ryder
was voted the 2006-07 Hudson Valley Women's
Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Coach of the Year for an
incredible 06-07 campaign during which Mount Saint
Vincent experienced one of the most dramatic
turn-arounds in the history of the program. After an
8-17 finish a year ago and graduating four starters
and more than 80% of the team's offense from
that squad, Ryder and company are currently 16-9 and
won both the HVWAC Regular Season and Tournament
Championships.
