4/29/2007 - Junior Nick Canzano (Farmington, NY/Victor Central HS) had two hits and had an RBI, and the Dolphin defense played two excellent games after a difficult week, but the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to Farmingdale State, 10-4 and 6-2 on Sunday during games played at Farmingdale. 4/28/2007 - Junior John O'Leary (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot HS) pitched perhaps his finest game of the 2007 season, a seven-inning gem that saw him strike out four and allow only a single earned run, and fellow juniors Eddie Park (Westbury, NY/Clarke HS) and Logan Mauzy (Homer, NY/Homer Central HS) combined to go 6 for 10 with three RBI's and four runs scored as the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team kept their playoff hopes alive with a 13-4 win over St. Joseph's (LI) on Saturday during the opening game of a doubleheader with the Golden Eagles. 4/26/2007 - Juniors Zach Munroe (Milford, CT/Foran HS) and Tanner Munroe (Milford, CT/Foran HS) went a combined 6 for 10 with two RBI's and three runs scored, and junior Eddie Park (Westbury, NY/Clarke HS) went 2 for 3 with three RBI's, but the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team lost its second straight game, 13-7 to John Jay College on Thursday during a game played at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, New York. 4/24/2007 - Junior Al Schor (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon HS) drove in two more runs to increase his team-leading total to 29 and junior Logan Mauzy (Homer, NY/Homer Central HS) went 2 for 3, but the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team suffered a 20-3 loss to New Jersey Athletic Conference powerhouse Ramapo College on Tuesday during a game played at Ramapo. 4/22/2007 - Nine games ago, it would have been hard to fathom, but the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team is officially in the hunt for their first-ever trip to the Skyline Conference playoffs. They still have an uphill path to reach the post-season, but after Sunday's 15-5 and 17-7 sweep of USMMA-Kings Point, the Dolphins have now won seven of their last nine games and as the final games of the 2007 season approach, the Mount is in sixth place in the Conference, only three games back of a playoff berth. 4/13/2007 - The recent spat of poor weather and threat of rain for the coming weekend has forced changes in the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball schedule. Saturday's doubleheader between Mount Saint Vincent and SUNY Old Westbury, originally scheduled to be played at Purchase College, will now take place at SUNY Old Westbury, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sunday's twin-bill between Mount Saint Vincent and Farmingdale State College, originally scheduled to be played at Mercy College, will now be played at Farmingdale State, beginning at 12:00 p.m. More...

4/11/2007 - Moments after the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team scored its second consecutive upset win, a 5-3 stunner over Skyline Conference powerhouse Manhattanville College on Wednesday at Manhattanville, one thing was clear: The playoff hunt has officially begun for the Mount. Despite a 4-11 overall record and a 2-5 mark in Skyline Conference play, by virtue of consecutive wins over post-season regulars Centenary and Manhattanville, it is clear that the Mount is a team to beat as the home stretch of the 2007 season begins and the playoff push has just become very interesting. Mount Saint Vincent scored the win on Wednesday using three qualities they did not see during an eight-game losing streak that seemed to put the Dolphins out of playoff contention: Great pitching, excellent defense, and clutch hitting. 4/9/2007 - And just like that, the 2007 Baseball season has a new meaning at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. After losing the opening game of a Skyline Conference doubleheader with 2006 Conference Champion Centenary on Monday during a game that featured an ending that was as heartbreaking as it was controversial, the Mount quickly fell behind 8-0 during the nightcap. But with the doubleheader and in many ways the 2007 season on the line, Mount Saint Vincent rallied for an 11-9 win to break an eight-game losing streak and put the Mount right back in the chase for the program's first-ever post-season bid. 4/1/2007 - The opening weekend of the Skyline Conference play proved to be a downer for the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team as the Dolphins dropped all four games and have lost seven straight games overall. But despite the current skid, the Mount did enough notable things by enough young players during the weekend to prove that they are very much in the mix as conference play heats up. 3/31/2007 - Two games into the Skyline Conference portion of the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball schedule for the 2007 season, two things were clear: The Dolphins have everything it takes to compete with the very best the conference has to offer, but if they are going to advance to the post-season for the first time, ever, all of the components have to come together in a hurry. During 13-4 and 8-5 losses to Mount Saint Mary, the Mount did many things right, but they also did not do quite enough to overcome a very good Blue Knight team, and fell to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in Conference play. 3/31/2007 - All five Mount Saint Vincent Spring Sports were in action on Saturday with a mixed bag of results: The Mount Saint Vincent Softball team turned in the biggest headline of the day when they split a doubleheader with 2006 Skyline Conference Champion St. Joseph's (LI) and were in a position to earn a sweep twinbill that was played at Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins won one of the most entertaining games in recent history during the opener when they rallied for a 14-13 win as the game went to nine innings. The nightcap was another back-and-forth affair with the Golden Eagles outlasting the Mount, 5-4 in eight innings. 3/16/2007 - Junior Ryan Strub (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot HS) allowed only two earned runs over eight innings of work, and sophomore Nick Triolo (Homer, NY/Homer Central HS) had a fantastic day at the plate, but the Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team concluded their Spring Training trip to Fort Pierce, Florida with a 2-5 record after a 7-6 loss to Northwestern College (MN) during a rain-shortened eight-inning game.
