For 200 years, the Sisters of Charity of New York have met the challenges of the times and ministered to the needs of the poor. The College of Mount Saint Vincent was first founded by the Sisters of Charity of New York in 1847. Rooted in the Catholic tradition, the College continues to uphold their mission.
“With dedication to the values of humility, charity, and simplicity, the Sisters of Charity founded the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Under their guidance, we have prepared our students for lives of achievement and service. Many Sisters earned their degrees here. Our history is deeply rooted in theirs. We are very proud to join in honoring our Sisters of Charity and celebrating their achievements, their extraordinary service, and their many good works,” said Charles L. Flynn, Jr., President of the College.
