Jen Mocanu Earns Third Skyline Rookie Of The Week Award
Middletown, N.J. native averaged 15.5 points in two wins

Jen Mocanu earned her third Rookie of the Week honor on Monday.
Lawrenceville, N.J. – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Jen Mocanu (Middletown, N.J.) has been named the Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season it was announced on Monday afternoon. Mocanu averaged 15.5 last week for the Mount in two league wins.

In addition to averaging 15.5 points per game in the two wins, Mocanu also posted 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Dolphins. Against Yeshiva on February 10, Mocanu posted 10 points in just 13 minutes on 5-7 shooting to go along with three assists in a road win. On February 14 she knocked down three triples on her way to 21 points in a 91-72 home win over Purchase. She also added five helpers and five steals in the contest. For the week, she shot 56.5-percent (13-23) from the field, including a 75-percent mark (3-4) from three-point range.

After going 2-0 last week the Dolphins stand at 14-9 overall on the season and 13-3 in Skyline Conference play heading into the final week of the regular season. The Dolphins will close out the regular season with a road game at Old Westbury on February 18 (6:00 p.m.) and with a home date on February 21 against Farmingdale St. The Farmingdale state game will tip at 3:00 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
