David Guerrero was named the Skyline Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Lawrenceville, N.J. – College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) has been named the Skyline Conference Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the second time in three weeks that Guerrero has been honored with the award.

Over five matches last week Guerrero averaged 3.00 kills, 3.94 digs and 0.56 blocks per set. Guerrero posted double-figures in kills twice last week, posting 10 in a 3-0 win at 2008 Skyline Champion Bard on January 29 and then 19 on Saturday at Stevenson in a 3-1 loss. Overall on the week he totaled 48 winners for the Dolphins.

Guerrero also had a solid week on the defensive end as well. He recorded at lest 13 digs on three occasions and finished with a pair of double-doubles. He recorded 16 digs in a sweep at CCNY and then 13 to go along with his 10 kills in the win at Bard. He rounded out the week with 17 digs in the Stevenson match. For the week, he totaled 63 digs and also finished with 9.0 total blocks.

At 3-5 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will be back in action again on February 5 for a NECVA Metro match at Ramapo. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
