Mocanu continued her strong rookie campaign last week by averaging 18.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game in a pair of Skyline victories. In a home win over Old Westbury, Mocanu scored 16 points, handed out three assists and picked up a pair of steals. She followed that up with a 20 point performance on 7-12 shooting at Sage on Saturday. For the week she shot 46.7-percent (14-30) from the field, including an even 50-percent (5-10) from three-point range. She handed out a total of four assists, collected four steals and posted two blocks over the two game stretch.
On the season Mocanu is second on the Mount in scoring at 13.1 points per game. She is shooting just over 40-percent from three point range and is also second on the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.7 boards per contest. She has recorded double-figures in scoring 11 times this season, including five times in the team’s last six games.
With the unbeaten week Mount Saint Vincent has now won five of its past six games and stands at 9-8 overall on the season and 8-2 in league play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Tuesday night when they host Bard. Tip-off at Hayes Gymnasium is set for 8:00 p.m.
