Mount Saint Vincent Sweeps Skyline Men’s Volleyball Weekly Awards
Guerrero, Krauszer earn honors for the Mount

David Guerrero was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Lawrenceville, NJ – Two College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball players have been honored by the Skyline Conference it was announced on Monday. Sophomore David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) was named the league’s Player of the Week, while freshman Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, NY) was named Rookie of the Week.

Guerrero helped the Mount to a 1-1 week by averaging 2.43 kills, 1.86 digs and 1.00 service aces per set over the two matches. In the season opener at Polytechnic, Guerrero posted 12 kills to go along with nine digs, five aces and a pair of block assists in a 3-1 victory. In a 3-0 loss to Preseason #15 Hunter, Guerrero finished the match with five kills, four defensive digs and a pair of service aces.

Krauszer had a strong start to his collegiate career last week, as he leads the team in digs per set and total blocks per set through the first two matches. The rookie posted four kills and team-highs with four total blocks and 13 digs in his debut at Polytechnic. He followed that up with eight kills, four digs and a pair of total blocks against Hunter.

At 1-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in Skyline Conference play, Mount Saint Vincent will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Stevens to open NECVA play. The match with the Ducks is set for 7:00 p.m.
