Koerner went 10-17 from the field overall in the tilt and 8-11 from long range. She also finished the contest with three rebounds and a pair of steals. Over the past four games for the Dolphins Koerner has shot 48.8-percent from long distance and has averaged 21.8 points and just under four rebounds.
The Dolphins never held the lead in the contest and trailed by as many as 18 points twice. Mount Saint Vincent cut the deficit to just two points at 56-54 with 10:59 left in regulation on an Ashley Ruiz (Carmel, NY) three-pointer, but Greensboro reeled off a quick 17-2 run to push its lead back to 17 points with 7:33 left to play.
The Pride (5-0) was led by four players in double-figures, including Dione Eccles’ 21 points on 8-15 shooting. Nikki Wilborn finished a solid game with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Kim Enoch and Ashley Burnette finished with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Greensboro shot 40.3-percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Mount 51-41 in the game. The Pride defense also forced 24 Mount Saint Vincent turnovers and converted those into 23 points.
Joining Koerner in double-figures on Monday for the Mount were Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, NY) with 14 points and Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY) with 11. Heesemann pulled down nine rebounds in the contest, while Percodani contributed three rebounds, three steals and a game-high nine assists.
Ruiz finished with nine points for the Dolphins off the bench to go along with a pair of assists and three rebounds. Senior Ashley Farrow (Ocean, NJ) posted a game-high 10 rebounds for the Mount in her first start of the season.
With the loss the Dolphins fall to 4-7 overall on the season. The Mount will look to snap a four game losing streak on January 6 when it hosts Skyline rival Sage. Tip-off with the Gators is set for 6:00 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
