Randy Battle earned his third Skyline Rookie of the Week Award of the season on Monday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – College of Mount Saint Vincent freshman Randy Battle (Bronx, NY) has been named the Skyline Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season it was announced Monday afternoon. Battle is third on the team in scoring through eight games, netting 15.5 points per game.

In the Dolphins’ lone game last week, Battle scored eight points and pulled down six rebounds in hard fought 93-80 loss to conference rival St. Joseph’s-LI. Through the team’s first eight games Battle is 15th overall in scoring in the conference and is tied for seventh in free-throw percentage at 79.3-percent. Battle has also improved on the glass throughout the season and now ranks second on the team in rebounding, pulling down just under five boards a game.

At 4-4 overall on the season and 2-1 in the Skyline Conference, Mount Saint Vincent will look to get above .500 when it travels to Yeshiva on Wednesday. Tip-Off with the Maccabees, who are coming off a 74-71 overtime win against Maritime, is set for 8:00 p.m. on December 17.
