Cabahug tied for the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke against Purchase with a time of 1:14.74. Against the Blue Angels she posted first place finishes in the 50 and 100-yard backstrokes and was also the lead leg in two winning relay teams.
Andrea De La Torre (Valley Stream, NY) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle against Purchase, while rookie Amanda Costa (Riveredge, NJ) took second place in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle.
Several Dolphins posted season best swim against New Rochelle in the Dolphins’ most recent meet. Jill Stark (Brooklyn, NY) took second in the 500-yard freestyle and shaved two seconds of her previous best time. Danielle Murphy (Brooklyn, NY) took second in the 100-yard butterfly and also posted a time two seconds better than her previous mark.
Costa continued an impressive freshman campaign against the Blue Angles with first place finishes in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events.
The split moves Mount Saint Vincent’s overall record to 2-2 overall, while the loss to Purchase drops the Mount to 0-1 in Skyline Conference competition. Next up for the Dolphins is a meet at USMMA-Kings Point on November 21. The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
