Meryl Streep Wins SAG Award for Portraying a Sister of Charity in "Doubt"

In late December to early January of this year, Scott Rudin Productions used the College of Mount Saint Vincent as a shooting location for the John Patrick Shanley movie Doubt. The Administration Building was an unofficial headquarters for the cast and crew. The halls of the first two floors were filled with lighting, wiring, rigging, lumber, costumes, and catering. Some of the third floor classrooms became the wardrobe and makeup rooms. Smith Hall turned into a makeshift soundstage. The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception was the site of some of the most crucial scenes in the film. Faculty and administrators witnessed a Hollywood film transform the Mount into an elementary school in the 1960s.

On Sunday, December 7, CBS Sunday Morning will air a special interview with actress Amy Adams led by Harry Smith, co-anchor of The Early Show. Smith recently met with Adams at the College of Mount Saint Vincent to discuss details Doubt. The interview took place in the President’s Parlor in Administration on November 13, 2008. Be sure to look out for familiar areas of Admin including the balcony.
