Christina Pierre was named Second Team All-Skyline Conference on Monday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) has been named Second Team All-Skyline Conference it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Pierre led the Dolphins in kills and total blocks in her sophomore season.

Pierre led the Dolphins in kills with 172 on the season and in kills per set with 2.57. The sophomore middle blocker was also the team leader in total blocks for the Mount this season with 35, including 27 solo blocks.

In 2008 Pierre ranked fourth overall in the Skyline Conference in hitting percentage with a .285 mark. Her total for kills ranked her fifth in the league and her 35 total blocks was good for fourth overall in the conference.

Pierre recorded ten or more kills in a match on nine occasions as a sophomore, including a season-high 18 on October 26 at Bard. She also recorded at least one total block in 14 of Mount Saint Vincent’s 20 matches this season, including five at the College of New Rochelle on September 23.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the 2008 campaign with an 11-9 overall record and with a 3-6 mark in the Skyline Conference.
