The men were led by three freshmen on Saturday. Navin Purushothan (Orange, CT) was the Mount’s top finisher at the meet, placing 216 overall out of 322 runners. He posted a time of 31:07. Andrew Giordano (Staten Island, NY) and Ralph Kiszakicwicz (Ozone Park, NY) followed in 227th and 273rd with times of 31:21 and 32:55, respectively. Sophomore Colin Galvin (Theills, NY) and freshman Shane Thomas (Mount Vernon, NY) rounded out the scoring five for the Mount in 278th with a time of 33:17 and 292nd in 34:18.34.
The Dolphins finished with 1,243 points at the meet. William claimed the men’s championship on Saturday with a point total of 64.
Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) continued her strong sophomore season with a 25th place finish on Saturday out of 298 competitors. She completed the 6K course in a time of 24:42.98 and was the top Skyline finisher. Ana Garcia (Kingwood, NJ) was the Mount’s second finisher in 227th place with a time of 29:12. Mary Eileen Kiernan (Rockaway Point, NY) in 259th place, Keianna McQueen (Brooklyn, NY) in 290th place and Teresa Santini (Lynbrook, NY) in 294th place rounded out the scoring team for Mount Saint Vincent.
The Dolphins finished the meet with 1,008 total points. Williams also took the women’s championship with 23 points.
The Dolphins will now prepare for the NCAA Regional to be held on November 15.
