Iribarne finished the 5K race at Bard in a time of 21:20 which was good for a second place finish in the field of 74 runners. Stephanie Widmer finished the course in 17th place with a time of 22:56, while sophomore Ana Garcia (Kingwood, NJ) crossed the finish line in 39th place overall with a time of 25:19. Mary Eileen Kiernan (Rockaway Point, NY) placed 47th on Sunday with Keianna McQueen (Brooklyn, NY) finishing 56th overall for the Dolphins. Teresa Santini ((Lynbrook, NY) came home in 61st for the Mount.
The women’s team finished in fifth place out of eight scoring teams at the event with a point total of 128. St. Joseph’s-LI took the team championships with a point total of 34.
For the second time this season Purushothan was Mount Saint Vincent’s top finisher. He completed the 8K course in 20th place in a time of 30:08. He was followed by classmate Andrew Giordano (Staten Island, NY) in 34th place overall with a time of 31:15. Ralph Kiszakkicwicz (Ozone Park, NY) finished the course in 46th place overall for the Dolphins and showed a time of 32:58. Rounding out the scoring five for the Mount on Sunday were Colin Galvin (Thiells, NY) in 49th place overall in a time of 33:07 and Shane Thomas (Mount Vernon, NY) in the 50th position in a time of 33:50.
The men’s team finished the meet in sixth place out of nine scoring teams with 172 points. St. Joseph’s-LI finished with the team championship with a point total of 41.
After a strong showing at the Skyline Championships the Dolphins will be back in action again on November 8 at the ECAC Championships. The meet will be held at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI starting with the women’s 6,000-meter race at 11:00 a.m. The men’s 8,000-meter race will follow at noon.
