Christina Pierre led the Mount in kills and total blocks in 2008.

BRONXVILLE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball team closed out the 2008 campaign on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep at Sarah Lawrence. Scores of the sets were 25-8, 25-10 and 25-19 in favor of the Dolphins. Sophomore Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) posted eight kills in the contest, while rookie Maureen Metzner (Mineola, NY) recorded a team-high five service aces.

Pierre hit .615 in the contest and also added a solo block in the winning effort. She wraps up the season as the team leader in kills with 172, good for a per game average of 2.57. Pierre also finishes the year as the team leader in total blocks with 35.

Metzner posted a career-high five service aces in the contest to go along with three defensive digs and a kill. Jessica Williams (Cornwall, NY) chipped in with three kills and three service aces, while Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, NY) finished the night with a pair of kills, two aces and three digs. Krystal Miranda (Putnam Valley, NY) posted 11 assists, while Renee Reynes (Bronx, NY) five digs.

The win snaps a four match losing streak and gives the Dolphins an 11-9 overall record.
