Two Mount Saint Vincent Runners Honored With Skyline Weekly Awards
Iribarne, Purushothan named Runners of the Week

Navin Purushothan was named a Skyline Runner of the Week for the first time on Monday.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Two College of Mount Saint Vincent Cross Country runners have been honored with Skyline Conference Runner of the Week honors it was announced Monday evening. Sophomore Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) has received the accolade for the sixth time this season, while freshman Navin Purushothan (Orange, CT) has been honored for the first time in his career.

Iribarne earns the award after winning her fifth race in six tries on Sunday at the York Invitational. Iribarne bested the field of 76 runners at the event with a time of 20:04. She helped the Dolphins to a fifth place finish out of 11 scoring team at the meet with a point total of 110. She was one of five runners honored by the league, joining athletes from Bard, St. Joseph’s-LI, Mount Saint Mary and Farmingdale State.

Purushothan has been honored for the first time after pacing the Dolphins at the York Invitational. He placed a career-best seventh on Sunday and finished the course in a time of 17:58. He led the Dolphins to a fifth place team finish with a point total of 114. He was also one of five athletes honored with the award, joining runners from Bard, Farmingdale State, St. Joseph’s-LI and Mount Saint Mary.

The Dolphins will return to the trails again this Saturday, October 25 at the St. Joseph’s-LI Invitational.
