James O'Connell
Assistant Coach
After a successful playing career at Mount Saint Vincent, James O’Connell joins the coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2009.
In his first season on the coaching staff, O’Connell will be responsible for the team’s defense. He got his first taste of coaching last season when an injury kept him out of game action for three weeks. During that time he helped coach the team’s defense and also ran the box during games.
As a player, O’Connell served as a team captain in both his junior and senior seasons at the Mount. Over his career on the backline he appeared in 36 games and made 29 starts. He recorded three assists in his career and picked up 62 groundballs.
A 2008 graduate of Mount Saint Vincent, O’Connell currently teaches at Ardsley High School in Westchester Country.
