RIVERDALE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Basketball program released its 2008-09 schedule Monday afternoon. The campaign features a full 18 game Skyline Conference schedule, a trip to the Hamilton College Tournament and 11 home contests, with the first coming on December 4 against Albertus Magnus.

“We will play our first five games on the road this season, including four of our five non-league games. After our home opener against Albertus Magnus, we will open a very competitive Skyline Conference schedule with the hopes of finishing in the top six and earning a berth in the league tournament,” Head Coach Brian Nigro ’00 commented. 

Following a pair of scrimmages, the Dolphins will open the 2008-09 regular season on the road on November 18 at cross town rival Lehman. After the match-up with the Lightning the Mount will head to Clinton, NY for two games in the Hamilton Tournament. The Dolphins will play the host on Friday, November 21 before squaring off with either Bates or Wells the following day.

The Dolphins will wrap up its five game road trip to open the season with games at St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on November 24 and then at Bard in their Skyline Conference opener on December 2.

Mount Saint Vincent will open in its home schedule on December 4 when it hosts Albertus Magnus in a non-conference contest. Following that game, the Mount will alternate home and road contests until two straight home dates against Maritime on January 6 and Polytechnic on January 10.

After the Polytechnic game, the Dolphins will play three of the next four on the road before coming home to play five of the final eight regular season games at Hayes Gymnasium, finishing up with Farmingdale State on February 21.

The Dolphins are coming off a 2007-08 season that saw them finish with a 9-16 overall record and a 6-12 mark in Skyline Conference play.
