Giordano finished the race in 18th place overall and was the Mount’s top finisher for the fourth straight time. He finished the course in 30:58 on Saturday. Navin Purushothan (Orange, CT) continued his strong rookie campaign with a 21st place finish in a time of 31:32. Colin Galvin (Thiells, NY) and Ralph Kiszakicwicz (Ozone Park, NY) were the next two finishers for the Mount in the race as they took 32nd and 35th in times of 33:25 and 33:59, respectively. Rounding out the field for the Mount were Shane Thomas (Mount Vernon, NY) in 42nd place and David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) in the 48th position.
Iribarne once again paced the women’s team, as she won her fourth race in as many opportunities to open the 2008 campaign. She dominated the field with a time of 20:16, finishing 35 seconds in front of her nearest competitor. Stephanie Widmer took 11th place for the Dolphins in a time of 22:25 and she was followed by Mary Eileen Kiernan (Rockaway Point, NY) in 27th with a time of 25:15. The rest of the scoring five for the Mount featured Keianna McQueen (Brooklyn, NY) in 34th place and Teresa Santini (Lynbrook, NY) in 37th.
The Dolphins will return to the trails and look to continue their strong 2008 season on Sunday, October 12 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Invitational.
