10/3/2008 - UNION, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Tennis team was defeated in a shortened match on Friday afternoon at Kean by a score of 5-1. In the match that was shortened due to darkness, Jessica Lorenzen (Denmark, ME) and Karen Laurent (Queens, NY) teamed for a win at second doubles.

Lorenzen and Laurent picked up the Mount’s only win of the afternoon with an 8-4 triumph over the Kean pair of Miranda Willmaria and Sheth Radhee.

On Friday, only three of the six singles matches could be completed as the second, third and fourth matches were all unfinished. Freshman Courtney McElhone (Wading River, NY) was the only player for the Dolphins to win a game on Friday against the Cougars in a completed singles match.

The loss is Mount Saint Vincent’s fourth straight and drops the Dolphins record to 2-8 overall on the season. The Mount will be back in action again on Tuesday at Division II St. Thomas Aquinas. The road match is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
