Williams recorded her 13 winners on 27 total attacks in posting a .370 hitting percentage. The rookie also posted a service ace, a solo block and three defensive digs. Sophomore Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) joined Williams in double-figures with 10 kills and a .318 hitting percentage.
Two other freshmen finished the night with solid performances, as Krystal Miranda (Putnam Valley, NY) posted 36 assists on the night and Renne Reynes (Bronx, NY) posted 13 digs. Each also recorded a service ace on the night, with Miranda chipping in with six digs.
Overall on the night, Mount Saint Vincent recorded 41 kills to just 21 for Staten Island. The Mount also finished the night with 43 digs, three total team blocks and a .264 overall hitting percentage.
The win pushes Mount Saint Vincent’s season long winning streak to four matches and improves its record to 8-4 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look to extend their streak on October 11 with a tri-match with at Farmingdale State with the host Rams and Old Westbury.
