Dolphins Downed On The Road At Sage
Lorenzen pushes singles record to 5-0
9/18/2008 - TROY, NY – The College
of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Tennis team was downed
in a Skyline Conference match at Sage on Wednesday
afternoon by a score of 7-1. Senior Jessica
Lorenzen (Demark, ME) was the lone winner for the
Mount, as she improved her singles record on the season to
5-0.
Lorenzen was victorious for the Dolphins at the fourth position where she defeated Briana Bixler of Sage 6-1, 6-0. Lorenzen also had a strong effort at second doubles in the match, as her and Karen Lauren (Queens, NY) lost a tough 9-7 decision to Melissa Sageman and Jessica Baldic.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent’s overall record to 1-4 and its Skyline record to 0-3. The Dolphins will return to action on September 19 when they travel to the College of New Rochelle. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
