Angelica Iribarne and Andrew Giordano were honored with Skyline weekly awards on Tuesday.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – A pair of Mount Saint Vincent Cross Country student-athletes have been honored as Skyline Conference Runners of the Week it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) and freshman Andrew Giordano (Staten Island, NY) earned the accolades for their strong showings at the Baruch Invitational on September 7.

Iribarne, who has received her fourth career conference weekly honor, helped Mount Saint Vincent to a third place finish at the invitational by winning the individual title in a time of 25:32 on the 6K course. Her time put her one full minute ahead of the second place finisher. Iribarne was one of four runners honored with the award, as she was recognized along with runners from St. Joseph’s (LI), Maritime and Purchase.

Giordano has received his first career weekly award after a strong finish in his collegiate debut at the Baruch Invitational. The rookie paced the Mount with an eighth place finish on the 8K course in a time of 32:27. His performance was fourth among all Skyline competitors at the event and helped Mount Saint Vincent to a fourth place team finish. Giordano was also one of four runners honored on the men’s side, joining student-athletes from Bard, Yeshiva and Maritime.

After a strong showing in the opening race, the Mount Saint Vincent men and women will be back in action on Saturday, September 13 at the Purchase Invitational.
