Sophomore named to Panther Invitational All-Tournament Team

of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore Christina Pierre
(Bronx, NY) has been named the Skyline Conference
Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week it was
announced by the league office on Monday evening. Pierre
posted 32 kills over four matches at the Old Westbury
Panther Invitational on her way to being named to the
All-Tournament Team.

Pierre, a 5-10 middle blocker, had a strong opening week as she helped the Dolphins to a 3-1 record at the two day tournament. She hit .348 overall, while averaging 2.67 kills and 0.42 blocks per game for the Mount. She posted 10 kill matches in wins over St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn and Old Westbury over the weekend and also hit .400 in a loss to Centenary.
At 3-1 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will be back in action again on Wednesday evening when they travel to York. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
