an admission decision?

me?

Will you consider all the SAT scores that I
submit?

Early Action program binding?

What is rolling admission, and when will I be notified of
an admission decision?
Rolling admission means
that once we receive your completed
application (beginning with December), you will
receive an admission decision in four weeks.
Who
can write a letter of recommendation for me?
We only require one letter of recommendation. Typically,
your guidance counselor will include one with your
transcripts and other school records. Of course,
you’re welcome to ask someone else to write a
letter of recommendation instead, such as a teacher who
knows you well.
Can
I apply online?
Yes! In fact, we prefer online applications. We’ll
even waive your application fee when you
apply online!
Will
you consider all the SAT scores that I
submit?
Yes. Please take the SAT as many
times as you wish, and we will evaluate your
application based on your best verbal and math scores.
Is your Early
Action program binding?
No. Early Action is a nonbinding admission program. Its
purpose is to give you an admission decision early in
your senior year. We adhere to the national
candidates’ reply date of May 1 for all admitted
students.
What
SAT scores and GPA do I need to get
admitted?
We do not have minimum cut-off SAT scores or GPAs. Our
most recent incoming class had an average SAT score of
1040 and an average GPA of 85 on a 100-point system. In
other words, we admitted students with SAT scores higher
and lower than 1040 and with GPAs above and
below 85.
Is an
interview required for admission?
No. However,
we strongly encourage that you schedule an interview. The
interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you,
and for you to have your questions answered. Interviews
are designed to be helpful to you, and they are not
stressful.
How do I
apply for financial assistance?
Fill out the
FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov/)
online or on paper anytime after January 1 of your senior
year (our FAFSA code is 002703). We begin awarding
need-based financial aid in late February or early March.
Do I need to fill out a separate application to be
considered for a scholarship?
No. When you apply for admission, you automatically apply
for all the merit-based scholarships we offer. If you are
eligible to receive a merit-based
scholarship, you will receive a notification letter
from the dean of admission and financial aid within your
acceptance packet.
Do I need to fill out the FAFSA to receive a merit
scholarship?
No. Your application for admission also serves as an
application for merit-based scholarships. The FAFSA is
only required if you are applying for need-based
financial assistance.
