Mount Saint Vincent Selected Fifth In Skyline Women’s Volleyball Pre-Season Poll
Dolphins set to open 2008 campaign on September 6

The Dolphins have been picked fifth in the Skyline Pre-Season Coaches' Poll.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball squad has been picked to finish fifth in the Skyline Conference Pre-Season Poll that was released on Wednesday afternoon. The Dolphins received 45 points in the poll, finishing 12 points behind fourth place Mount Saint Mary and three tallies ahead of sixth place Old Westbury.

2007 Skyline Champion Sage is picked to repeat, as the Gators received 79 total points and seven of the possible 10 first place votes. Polytechnic took the second spot with 72 points and a pair of first place nods, while Farmingdale State was picked third with 68 points and a single first place vote. Mount Saint Mary (57) and the Dolphins (45) round out the top five.

Rounding out the poll are Old Westbury in sixth (42), St. Joseph’s (LI) in seventh (31), Bard in eighth (28), Purchase in ninth (18) and Maritime in tenth (10).

The Dolphins closed out the 2007 campaign with an overall record of 16-16 to go along with a Skyline mark of 4-5, good for the sixth seed in last year’s Skyline Tournament.

The 2008 campaign features five home matches, including a Skyline tri-match with St. Joseph’s (LI) and Maritime on September 20. The season opens on September 6 against St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn) at the Old Westbury Panther Invitational. On day two of the tournament, the Dolphins will square-off with the host Panthers and Brooklyn College.
