Women’s Soccer Selected Seventh In Skyline Conference Pre-Season Poll
Dolphins receive 34 points; host Fontbonne (MO) Saturday night

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer squad was picked seventh in the Skyline Conference Pre-Season Poll that was released Monday afternoon. The Dolphins received 34 points in the poll voted on by the conference’s 10 head coaches. Farmingdale was picked as the overwhelming favorite with 80 total points.

The Rams led the way with their 80 points and also finished with eight of the possible 10 first place votes in the poll. Bard and St. Joseph’s (LI) tied for the second position, with each receiving 68 total points and one first place nod. Rounding out the top five are Purchase (58) and Sage (49).

Mount Saint Mary was picked to finish sixth and received 42 points, with the Dolphins following with their 34. The poll is rounded out by Maritime in eighth (24), Old Westbury in ninth (15) and Yeshiva in tenth (12).

First year head coach Pat Gormley will guide the Dolphins in 2008. He takes over a team that finished 7-11 overall last season and 3-6 in Skyline Conference play.

Gormley and the Dolphins will open the season on Saturday night August 30 when they host Fontbonne (MO). Kick-off for the season opener is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
