Apply as a Freshman
Applying is easy. And because we offer rolling admissions, you’ll get an answer within four weeks of completing your application, starting December 1. The deadline is April 1, after which we consider admission on the basis of space availability. We also offer Early Action, a nonbinding, flexible admission program. The deadline for applying Early Action is November 1, and you’ll be notified by December 1.

Ready to apply?

  1. Check out our requirements.  In reviewing applications, we consider grades, course selection, class rank, and extracurricular activities.
  2. Visit. You’ll love our campus, and we’ll get to know you better than we would from just reading your application.
  3. Have your SAT or ACT scores sent directly to the admission office from the College Board. Our SAT code is 2088; our ACT code is 2823.
  4. Have a teacher forward a letter of recommendation on your behalf to the admission office.
  5. Have your high school(s) forward your official transcript(s).
  6. Complete the application. If you apply online, either through the Common Application or through our application, your application fee is waived. If you apply using a paper application, enclose the $35 fee. Download an application or download the Common Application here.
  7. Write an essay on a topic of your choice.
  8. Explore financial aid and scholarships. You’ll be considered automatically for merit scholarships when you submit your application. But if you’re hoping for need-based aid, you should submit the FAFSA (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/) to the federal government sometime soon after January 1. Our FAFSA code is 0002703.

Please Note: Any student interested in deferring their enrollment and/or acceptance to an upcoming semester must submit the request in writing to the Director of Admission. The admissions committee will review the request and notify the student of a decision within one month of the request. A student can not defer more than two semesters, or one year, from the original acceptance.
