Nigro Adds Nolan Adams To Men’s Basketball Staff
Adams joins Dolphins after assistant stint at St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn

Nolan Adams will join Brian Nigro's coaching staff for the 2008-09 season it was announced on Wednesday.
RIVERDALE, NY – College of Mount Saint Vincent Head Men’s Basketball Coach Brian Nigro ’00 announced to hiring of assistant coach Nolan Adams on Wednesday afternoon. Adams will join the Dolphins staff after serving as an assistant coach at St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn since 2005.

While with the Bears, Adams served as the Director of Scouting and the head of recruiting. In the scouting capacity, Adams was responsible for scouting future opponents and coming up with a game plan to give his team the best opportunity to win.

As the head of recruiting, Adams traveled to watch prospective student-athletes at the high school level. He developed and fostered relationships with the New York City PSAL and the CHSSA and saw success with schools such as Xaverian, Rice and Christ the King. In addition, Adams would contribute to all pre-game preparation, game planning and in-game play calling.

Adams has also worked at the Xaverian Basketball Camp since June of 2007. In that capacity he would facilitate the daily operations of a 300 student summer sports camp. He also oversaw the activities of 10 camp counselors.

A two year varsity letter winner at Mount Saint Vincent, Adams also volunteers in summer coaching with various programs, including AAU, PAL, the Brooklyn All-Stars and Believe to Achieve.

Adams received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn in May 2004 and is working on his Masters in Education at Touro College and is expecting to complete his course work in January 2009.

Currently an 8th Grade Social Studies and Physical Education teacher for the New York City Board of education, Adams resides in Brooklyn.
