Dolphins Cruise To First Ever Skyline Tournament Win
Five Dolphins drive in at least two runs

Michael Pope ripped four doubles in Mount Saint Vincent's Skyline Tournament win on Wednesday.
PURCHASE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team earned its first ever Skyline Conference Tournament win on Wednesday with a convincing 23-2 win over Polytechnic. Five Dolphins had multi-RBI games on Wednesday, with Tanner Munroe (Milford, CT) driving in four runs. Jon O’Leary (Bohemia, NY) earned the win after firing six strong innings.

The Dolphins were held scoreless in just two innings and scored at least two times in the other six frames. The Mount scored four runs in its first two at-bats, before erupting for five runs in the fourth. The Dolphins closed the game with two runs in the sixth, five more in the seventh and three in the eighth.

Eddie Park (East Meadow, NY) went 2-3 with three runs and three RBI and was one of four players with at least two hits. Tanner Munroe and Michael Pope (Massapequa, NY) led the way with four hits each in the win. All off Pope’s hits were doubles on Wednesday, while Tanner Munroe added a double and a home run.

Al Schor (Norwalk, CT) finished with one hit in the game, but scored two runs and drove in two with a home run. He and Munroe hit back-to-back home runs on Wednesday. Park, Logan Mauzy (Homer, NY) and Pope each drove in three runs. Zach (Milford, CT) and Tanner Munroe each scored three runs, while Pope crossed home four times.

O’Leary picked up the win and moved to 3-2 on the season. He worked 6.0 effective innings in which he allowed just two runs, only one earned, on two base hits. After hitting the first two batters of the game, O’Leary did not allow another base runner until the fifth inning. Anthony Palandro (Westbury, NY) picked up the save on Wednesday after working the final three innings. He allowed no runs on three hits and struck out five against just one walk.

The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 20-13 on the season. The Dolphins first ever tournament win advances the Dolphins to a meeting with second seeded St. Joseph’s-Long Island on Friday at Farmingdale State. First pitch with the Golden Eagles is set for 7:00 p.m.
