Men's Basketball Head Coach
Position Title: Head Coach, Men’s Basketball

Reports to: Director of Athletics

Scope:  The Head Coach is responsible for the administration of all
aspects of the Men’s basketball program including coaching, recruiting, student-athlete mentoring and ensuring program compliance with the NCAA, Conference and College rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Achieving a high level of competence in sport skill instruction, motivation, and conduct of practice sessions
- Providing effective sport instruction during contests
- Recruiting student-athletes effectively under the direction of the AD
- Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Conference, College, and the Department of Athletics Code of Conduct
- Achieving competitive results that demonstrate athletic excellence
- Demonstrating a sincere interest in the social, emotional, academic development, as well as the athletic welfare of student-athletes
- Demonstrating excellent writing, speaking and listening abilities
- Exhibiting supportive and cooperative behavior in pursuing sport program goals established by the Athletic Director
- Exhibiting leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes
- Completing all assignments made by the Director of Athletics including but not limited to scouting, fundraising and fan-raising
- Participating in department meetings, workshops to increase professional skills and knowledge
- Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships within the Athletic Department and with the rest of the college community
- Assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Summary of Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree and coaching experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; ability to support high academic standards and to motivate students; demonstrate enthusiasm for sport program goals; and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
