Dolphins Drop Non-Conference Road Game At Centenary
Mauzy, Blackford, Labartino all collect two hits

Logan Mauzy connected on his first home run of the season on Tuesday.
AUGUSTA, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team fell on the road at Centenary on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 8-4. Three Dolphins collected two hits each in the game, with Logan Mauzy (Homer, NY) going 2-5 with a home run. Joe Blackford (Stewartsville, NJ) and James Labartino (Holbrook, NY) also finished with two hits apiece.

Mount Saint Vincent out hit Centenary in the game 11-6, but the Cyclones used a five run sixth inning to take the lead for good. Centenary was led by Mark DeMaio who finished with three of the team’s six hits. He also scored two runs and drove in a pair.

Mauzy finished the game 2-5 with his first long ball of the season. The senior backstop also scored two runs and picked up an RBI. Blackford finished the game 2-3 with a run scored, while Labartino also went 2-3. Michael Pope (Massapequa, NY), who was named Skyline Rookie of the Week on Monday, picked up a hit, scored a run and drove one run home.

Zach Munroe (Milford, CT) pitched 5.0 effective innings for the Dolphins in a no decision. He surrendered three hits and allowed two unearned runs. John Olsen (Seaford, NY) took the loss in relief and allowing five runs on three hits

The loss snaps a three game winning streak for the Mount and moves its record to 16-13 overall on the season. The Dolphins will take the field again on Wednesday afternoon when they host Baruch. First pitch at Columbia University’s Baker Field Complex is set for 3:30 p.m.
