| Nick Triolo drove in Saturday's game winning run on a bases loaded walk. |
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth, Al Schor (Norwalk, CT) led off the frame with a double to right center field. Munroe followed with a base hit through the middle to tie the score for the Mount with no one out in the inning. The Dolphins would put runners on second and third with one out, but could not get the winning run across.
Schor got a run scoring rally started for the second straight inning, when he singled with two outs in the tenth. From there Stevens reliever Armando Suarez walked three straight batters, including Triolo to send Mount Saint Vincent to the victory.
Schor, Michael Pope (Massapequa, NY) and Josh Cuozzo (Westbury, NY) all finished the game with two hits, as the Dolphins pounded out 12 against three Stevens pitchers. Schor scored both runs for the Mount on the day with Triolo and Munroe picking up the only runs batter in.
Scott Taylor (Jersey City, NJ) picked up the win in relief after firing a perfect tenth inning in which he struck out a pair. Corey Kirsh (East Meadow, NY) fired 9.0 strong innings in the start and allowed just one earned run on nine hits. He walked just one batter in the outing and fanned seven.
The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 14-12 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Sunday afternoon for a Skyline Conference doubleheader at Purchase. First pitch is set for Noon.
