4/18/2008 - RIVERDALE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Tennis team fell in a pair of Skyline Conference matches this week. The Dolphins were downed 9-0 at Purchase on Wednesday night and 7-2 at Bard on Thursday. Phil Anselmo (Bronx, NY) and John Furka (Massapequa, NY) picked up the Mount’s singles wins against the Raptors.

Anselmo was a winner at fourth singles over Bard’s Alex Kuc on Thursday by scores of 4-6, 6-0, and 10-6. The win moves him to 7-2 overall in singles competition on the year for the Dolphins. Furka improved his record in singles play to 2-5 on the season with a win at the third spot on Thursday. He defeated Bard’s Zach Polidoro by scores of 6-3, 6-1.

The losses drop Mount Saint Vincent to 1-8 overall on the season and to 0-5 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they host league rival Polytechnic. The match will be held on Mount Saint Vincent’s campus in Riverdale and will start at 1:00 p.m.
