Men’s Tennis Beats Sarah Lawrence For First Win Of The Season
Top three singles win for Mount Saint Vincent
4/14/2008 - BRONXVILLE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Tennis team defeated Sarah Lawrence 7-2 on Friday afternoon for its first win of the season. The Dolphins took five of the six singles matches and then two of the three doubles contests to earn the win.

Albert Munroe (Milford, CT) picked up his first win of the season by downing Sarah Lawrence’s Max Neely-Cohen 10-7 at first singles. Other winners in singles competition for the Mount included Kyle Firmender (Milford, CT) at second singles, Eric Lastres (Bayside, NY) at third singles, Phil Anselmo (Bronx, NY) at fifth singles and Vincent Cangiano (Green Brook, NJ) at sixth singles.

In doubles action, Lastres and Cagiano teamed up for an 8-1 win at the first position, while Anselmo and Alex Gonzales (Bronx, NY) won 8-0 by default at third doubles.

The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 1-4 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action on Sunday when they host Skyline Preseason favorite Yeshiva. The match at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
