In the opener, the Dolphins scored their six runs on seven hits. Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, NY) collected a double and a home run in the game one, while Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY) went 2-3 with a pair of RBI in the win.
Gonzalez picked up the win after firing 7.0 innings and allowing just one earned run. She allowed four hits, a walk and struck out nine batters for the Dolphins. Gonzalez also drew a walk at the plate and scored a run in two official at-bats.
Mount Saint Vincent scored all three of its runs in the first three innings of game two to earn the sweep and remain perfect in the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference. The game winner came in the third inning on single from Sam Reynolds (Mamaroneck, NY).
O’Shea collected another double in game two, as she went 2-3 with two runs scored. Reynolds and Nina Pagani (Yonkers, NY) also went 2-3 in the contest. Jillian Troncoso (West Haverstraw, NY), Nora Chivelly (Suffern, NY) and Reynolds drove in the Mount Saint Vincent runs.
Gonzalez was again strong in the circle for the Mount. She again went 7.0 innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits. She did not walk a batter and struck out four more Lady Bears to send the Dolphins to the sweep.
With two more wins on Thursday, Mount Saint Vincent stands at 13-9 overall on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the HVWAC. The Dolphins will return to Skyline action on Saturday when they host Russell Sage. First pitch at Sarah Lawrence College is set for Noon.
