Mount Saint Vincent Completes Sweep Of Yeshiva
Dolphins score 22 runs on 21 hits in victory

Nick Canzano was one of seven Mount Saint Vincent players to drive in at least two runs on Wednesday night.
BRONX, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team completed its sweep of Yeshiva on Wednesday night with a 22-0 win over the Maccabees. Mount Saint Vincent tied the program record for runs in a game on Wednesday. The Dolphins also posted 22 runs in a game on March 4, 2006 against Gallaudet. The Mount had 11 players record at least one hit in the contest, with Miguel Montano (Brooklyn, NY) leading the way with four.

The Dolphins used a 14 run first inning to secure the victory against the Macs. In the opening frame, Mount Saint Vincent finished with nine base hits. Zach Munroe (Milford, CT) drove in all four of his runs in the Mount’s first at-bat.

10 Dolphins finished with at least one RBI in the contest, with seven players driving in at least a pair of runs. Zach Munroe led the squad with his four RBI, while Tanner Munroe (Milford, CT) and Brendan Russo (Westbury, NY) each finished with three RBI. Nick Canzano (Farmington, NY), Logan Mauzy (Homer, NY) Dave Dempsey (Brewster, NY) and Vito Cataldo (Wantagh, NY) all drove in a pair of runs in the winning effort.

Montano went 4-5 in the contest with three runs and an RBI to lead the offensive output. Tanner Munroe and Michael Pope (Massapequa, NY) each collected three hits in the tilt. Dempsey went 1-1 in the contest and recorded his first career hit.

Corey Kirsh (East Meadow, NY) took the ball for the Mount and fired a complete game shutout for his second win of the season. He allowed just five hits in the game, did not allow a walk and struck out 10 Yeshiva batters to move to 2-1.

The win on Wednesday gets Mount Saint Vincent back to the .500 mark on the season and runs its winning streak to five games. At 11-11 overall on the season and 6-4 in the Skyline Conference, the Dolphins will be back in action at #5 Cortland on Friday afternoon.
