Megan Gonzalez Earns Skyline Softball Pitcher Of The Week Honors
Sophomore fired two shutouts at Maritime on Sunday

Megan Gonzalez allowed just four hits over 10.0 innings on Sunday.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Sophomore Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, IN) has been named the Skyline Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week it was announced on Monday. Gonzalez won both games of a doubleheader at Maritime on Sunday, allowing just four hits over 10.0 innings of work.

The two wins moves Gonzalez to 6-6 on the season and gave Mount Saint Vincent its first two league wins of the year. Gonzalez allowed just one walk over the two game stretch and picked up five strikeouts. In 13 appearances in 2008, Gonzalez has recorded 40 strikeouts and has walked just nine batters.

With the sweep on Sunday, Mount Saint Vincent improves to 7-9 overall on the season and to 2-4 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Tuesday for a Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference doubleheader at the College of New Rochelle. First pitch for the set with the Blue Angels is set for 4:00 p.m.
