O’Shea, Gonzalez Earn HVWAC Weekly Awards
O’Shea hit .353 over eight games, Gonzalez posted 3-2 record

Megan Gonzalez was named the HVWAC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
RIVERDALE, NY – Sophomores Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, NY) and Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, IN) have been named Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week it was announced Tuesday evening. O’Shea hit .353 over eight games last week, while Gonzalez posted a 3-2 record and fired a no-hitter against Medgar Evers on March 26.

O’Shea went 6-17 for the Mount with seven runs scored and 10 RBI over an eight stretch that saw the Dolphins go 4-4. In game one of a doubleheader with Medgar Evers, O’Shea went 2-3 with two runs scored and five RBI after recording two doubles. For the week she posted two doubles, a triple and a home run for the Dolphins to go along with four walks.

Gonzalez went 3-2 in five starts last week and posted an ERA of 4.67. In 27.0 innings pitched she allowed just three walks and struck out 27. In the front end of a doubleheader with Lehman, Gonzalez allowed just one hit and fanned 10, before firing a 5.0 inning no-hitter in which she struck out eight the next day against Medgar Evers.

At 5-9 overall and 2-0 in the HVWAC, the Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday when they host Skyline rival Old Westbury. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
